I had slp loudmouths on my 05 GT. Great sound, way more than I wanted from my 2011. So I went with these. Great price and quick delivery thanks to Shaun at Rehagen Racing. My goals, No Drone, Ford Quality, Aggressive without being obnoxious sound.

Check, Check, FREAKIN' CHECK!!! May not be perfect for everyone but exactly what I wanted. Ok it would be nice if they also delivered 75 hp, but I'll settle.

In case anyone is interested in what these mufflers sound like from within your car (windows down) while accelerating.

After listening to many clips these mufflers seem to be the perfect match. No drone what so ever and that nice Mustang deep sound. Not over bearing but you know they are there.

You had drone on a 5.0 with the GT500 axle-back? Which year exhaust did you use? This is the first I've heard of anyone experiencing drone with this set up.

I think he said he resolved his drone putting on the GT500 mufflers. I bet the drone was from the hush powers.

I have the GT500 mufflers also and there is no drone.

I had a terrible drone with the Hushpowers and a moderate drone with the Roushes.

I put on the GT500 ABs, and no drone at all, even with the offroad X pipe...

Is it any deeper or louder with the offroad Xpipe? Did you notice in any loss or gain in power with it as well?

Thanks

I just added some videos to my exhaust guide page (see signature) of the GT500 mufflers with an offroad H pipe with no resonators. Not an X pipe but it gives an idea of what the GT500 mufflers sound like with no cats.

It's definitely louder with no cats.

Yes, it's definately louder with the X than without. I am going to add them to a video that I already made that compares the Roushes with an OR X to the Hushpowers with an OR X.

It's not totally overpowering like the Roush and HPs were, but it will definately get you noticed when you stomp on the go pedal. The drone is gone, but you can still hear the exhaust from inside the car. Now I can listen to the radio if I want to, which is nice because I recently upgraded my speakers!

I can't tell any difference at all power-wise. It feels the same to me with all 3 ABs.

I will post it on Youtube tomorrow, and will post a link here for you guys.

The current video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5iwNZ7X1IQ

So tomorrow's video will compare Roush ABs, Hushpower ABs and GT500 ABS, all with the Lethal OR X pipe, stock over axle pipes and stock resonators.

For me, the exhaust seach is finally over!!! It took 3 months and 3 tries, but I finally got the sound I want, and no drone at all.

I'm trying to put some miles on before I take the vid to give the mufflers a chance to burn in a little bit and to try to represent the true sound.

They are a little louder and a little deeper already, after only a couple hundred miles on them.

I recently did a swap of the stock exhaust for the Flowmaters American Thunder Classic. They sound awesome. I made a vid showing the before and after comparison. Sorry about the narration--I talk too much.

Very nice! I decided on the SLP Loudmouth - we'll see how it turns out. Definitely looking forward to it, to get more volume out back! They should be here by the end of next week, so I'll let you all know. I may even be able to post a video, even though it's always sooooo deceiving and hard to duplicate an ACCURATE sound of the real sound.

Does the Boss 302 use the same GT500 mufflers or are they different ? Love the sound of the gt500 but if the Boss has a deeper sound i may hold off till spring ...
According to the Ford engineer posting here, they are not the same mufflers.
