GT500 Diffuser Ordering Question

I have a question.

I ordered a V6. When I tried to add the diffuser to my order, all the salespeople were confused. At first, they didn't even know what the diffuser is ("The black thing around the exhaust?"). Then when I went with my salesperson to the inventory department to submit the order, one of them over there said that the you can't order the car with the diffuser. He said that I would have to wait for the car to arrive and order it from the parts department. The same goes for the trunk protector mat (they also didn't know what I was talking about).

So is that right? I thought I could just order it and have it on when the car came.

I tried to do the same thing but the sales guy couldn't find the option in the system. He even turned the computer screen around and we were both looking for it but nothing. He suggested to order it from the parts dept.

Been wondering when this question would come up.

I would go back to your salesman and get him to pull up the B&P website and look at it and show him what you are talking about.

Then if that doesn't pan out, I don't know who you buck it up the line to.

I would like to hear from one of the dealership sales guys on here about what they can find out.

Just order it afterwards, it is an accessory, just like the Pedestal Spoiler, the hood scoop and the rear louvers if ordered separately are. Then you can put on or have the stealership do it.
Then see if your salesman can save you some money on it, I paid $125 for mine and put it on myself.

^when I was ordering my perf pack 11 I wanted to ad only two things the shelby gt500 rear diffuser&the trunk mat. My sales guy showed me in the dealer order website that neither of those we're available when placing your order even though the ford B&P site did show them so go figure eh?

They are dealer accessories. Go to the parts department, they will know what you are talking about....

^way to state the obvious man
We all know that you can order them from your local ford parts department what is confusing is that they show it on the ford B&P with set prices which to me makes you believe you can actually order it finance it and have it installed for that price at least thats what I thought

The pricing on the B&P site is parts only. They are not ordered from the factory but are ordered through parts and then either dealer or self installed.

I got mine from the parts department and installed it myself. Cost me about $160 and took about an hour to put it on. Looks pretty good.

I would think that the salesperson would say, well, lets order it and we will have it put on for free, include it in your purchase order.

That shouldnt be that hard. I dont see why you would have to order the car, then wait to order the part. I would tell them, order the part, have it installed when I pick it up. Both of the dealers I was dealing with, offered to do this.

Guess I just don't understand why Ford does things the way they do.

The diffuser and the CS front facia are listed in the accessory listings, same place the accessory packages are listed and when you order a car you can order the accessory packages and they come factory installed so why wouldn't the rest of the accessories that are listed in the same place?

^same around here tons of gts on the lots very few v6s other then a few verts and crazily optioned out premiums with stickers over $30,000. Yet several of my local dealers plan to have people order performance package cars if they want them instead of stocking a few with different options, they almost allways try and get you to look at the 5.0 first, and when I said bottom of the food chain it was in reference to having to wait all summer for the performance package to become available when ford released the cars for the media to test back in spring, the fact that ordering options/acc for a gt is easier and a bunch of other little things
