I'm thinking about upgrading to the GT500 15" Brembo brake kit and was wondering whether or not 19x8.5" rims would fit over them or if the have to be at least 19x9". I don't want to eventually buy new rims if i don't need to.

 

Depends on the wheels. I think 'dinosaur' on these forums has been working in identifying wheels that work

 

It's not width that is an issue, it's backspace and spoke design.

If you are referring to oem 19x8.5 wheels, none of them will fit without a pretty thick spacer.

 

okay thanks. i just wanted to make sure it wouldn't fit behind the stock rims. i'm not a big fan of using spacers if they have to be really thick

 

I have the OE 14" Brembos and may still upgrade myself. :/

 

I would honestly be surprised if the brembo wheels didn't fit, cuz the GT500 has 19's up front yet.

 

yea there are two sizes out for the ford racing brembos. theres the 4 piston with 14" rotors and the 6 piston with 15" rotors. yea it was confuing because the sites that sell the kits dont actually give a wheel size but tells you which wheels would fit. i might just get the shelby wheels to go along with the kit when i upgrade.
