Granny Challenge

Being that gas is over 4 bucks a gallon, figured I'd put my '10 GT (3:73) to the MPG litmus test,,, 50% country / 50% city driving mixed driving

=> 24.6 MPG (reg unlead), pretty **** good if you ask me

Hardest thing I've ever done , never to be repeated again!

Anyone else up to the challenge ? Give 'er a go, just for one tank. MPG avg must come from actual odometer reading, full tank, do the math

Granny Game on!

i am getting 17.4 mpg using premium gas, what gas do you guys use? is it better to use regular for day to day driving?

i drive a 50/50 highway city mix i'd say, city being roads with red lights, not like NYC (sorry for the hijack)

Not bad! 3.73s arent supposed to be that good in mixed driving.

Somehow I managed 25.77 with my 3.55s...but only once. I typically get 23-24 mixed if I consciously short shift, etc.

I just can't make myself go a whole tank in granny mode! Too many inviting interstate ramps to wind it out.

I have noticed since changing to full synthetic, my miles before fill up have increased from around 200 to around 230. Might be the new oil, might be the engine breaking in...not sure. I usually fill up before the light comes on around 1/4 or slightly below 1/4 tank.

My normal driving style is 1-3-5 in town and obviously 6th on the interstate..cruising between 70-80.

Post 3.55s with 4.6

I have the same engine as the OPs 2010 in my 2006.
In granny mode with 3.55s I have gotten 27mph on a 100mile cruise from my garage in town (dead cold) and back (very little highway, but few stop lights).
That was done by the computer, but it reads LOWER than actual (my 2007 reads higher than reality )
I don't do that often. Usually I am more like 18-19.

Short shiftin

That's the ticket, short shiftin. Usually I avg 20, give or take. Just thought I'd give it a shot one time,

13gal x 4.6 => 60 miles approx, so that would be about $8 bucks saved.

I fill up once a week so over a month, $32 bucks saved, that'll by me some brew ha-ha

IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT ARGHHHH !
