got my FRPP GT 500 mufflers installed at rehagen racing

well, first of all, i can't say enough good things about my experience buying and getting my mufflers installed. thanks again to shaun and all his cohorts at rehagen racing for fantastic experience. shaun and his guys spent a lot of time making sure the pipes lined up correctly and showed me around their amazing shop.

first, some before pics of the stock tips:

from behind:

from the side:

now the GT 500 axle backs from behind:

from the side:

and the 2 cans side by side. the one on the left is the GT 500:

and a shot of the workshop. lots of race cars here:

i found the GT 500 cans to be perfect for my taste. not too loud and no drone whatsoever. i drove home on the interstate and didn't experience any drone at any highway speed. also i like the fact that since these are an FRPP part they meet ford requirements for corrosion resistance, etc.

i'll be looking to rehagen for my 18" wheel needs for my winter wheels soon.

and as a bonus: if you've ever been curious as to what your 2011 5.0 sounds like without mufflers, here's a video i took with the iphone.

Glad you like them. I really like the way those sound on the car. Those are the mufflers the factory should have used on the 5.0. Nice to meet another local mustang owner... especially a Porsche defector.

Nice meeting you at the shop today, and the car sounds great with those mufflers on it. Definitely wakes it up. How was the sound tube with both baffles out of it?

i think i'm going to put the inner baffle back in (the gray one). at low revs (1500 or so) it sounds like the whole car is under water.

it was also great meeting you at the shop. and your ride is very cool.

you're right. after hearing them, i wish they had those mufflers as the factory default with an option for quieter mufflers.

as soon as i get the 1-2 shift feeling smoother, there won't be anything i miss about my old 911.
