good price for Base GT w/Auto trans

Just came from the dealer. I am considering a 2010 base GT with an auto trans. They are willing to dealer invoice minus 3 grand in rebates. brings the car down around $26K. Is this a good deal? I'd love to have an 11 GT premium but man I can not kick $33 g's right now.
Thanks for any input,
joe

What are your goals for the car? Daily driver? Drag racer? Road racer? Do you drive like an ahole or are you conservative?

I was going to add it as a 2nd car. No drag racing or ahole stuff. Just looking to get back in a Mustang. Used to have an 03 Mach1 which I put a blower on and had some fun with it. Not looking to do that again, but you never know. Just have a nice car to cruise around in. I don't need much fancy stuff on the inside.
Thanks,
Joe

Does it have to be a V8? I bet a base 2011 V6 would still be cheaper.

Yeah I prefer V8. I'm going to search a bit more. My biggest restriction is the auto trans. My wife can't drive a standard. Otherwise I would have a lot more to choose from.
Thanks

For base...I would want them to go a bit lower.
As for your wife, teach her. It might be a fun experience, and then you can get the car for 1K less if it has a manual.

Is the auto tranny the only option? What is the sticker on it?

Base GT with only the auto tranny as an option should be $29,745 MSRP I believe.

I wouldn't go more than $25,000 for it, won't too many more days before 2011's will be hitting the lot.

Total vehicle is 29390 + 850 Destination = 30240
Forget about teaching the wife it was already tried with total failure.

The more I think about this a 2011 V6 premium should be the way I go

What other option is on it, security package?

Still wouldn't go more than about $25,500 max.

Fred,
Guess we can call this one sold! I want to say thanks for a really nice Mustang. Handles great, runs very strong, and is just a beautiful car.
Regards,
Joe
