Stealership has a Sterling Grey 5.0 coupe for $24898 (34xxx miles): Auto, 18 inch wheels, tan, interior. Im not fond of the low rent looking 18's but that can be taken care of, I am more interested in any first year problems with the Coyote?

What a rip off!
You can get a brand new 5.0 for a little more than that with an x plan and 2k(3k?) of incentives.

How do you go about getting 2-3 grand in incentives? And also what is the x plan?

Join mca(mustang club of america) which gives you ford partner only discounts and on top of that all of the incentives you get from a '12 or '13 now.

When i said a little more i dont mean it for a gt premium. I mean it for a bare bones 5.0 like the OP described.

Do your homework and it pays off.
I ended up saving 5.5k on my car because of it. I even made my dealer give me $500 out of their $700 earnings on my deal in exchange of a perfect survey lol

Oh and the $750 off coupon too from ford.com/brochure

This only applies to new cars only

Google ford x plan benefits and see all that you can get with it

MCA website says nothing about discounts under membership benefits.

Not sure about all the first year problems but since its an auto you can cross off MT-82 problems on that list.

I have a 2012 gt and the transmission has been fine for me though.

Like some has posted. I would try looking for
any new 2012 5.0s for around that 25k price range. Should be possible if you have a trade-in plus any discounts or incentives. I got mine for 28k around 8 months ago.

these guys are steering you true - 25k for a 35k miles 2011??? you can get a 2013 base for 31k.... (msrp) and with discounts and x-plan almost the same price.... do your research and find something better.

check out this thread:

https://themustangsource.com/f726/lo...g-home-515553/

you can see what you can get now on 13's - why go for an 11?????

Where did he say bare-bones? From what I read, that could easily be a premium. He wasn't really very descriptive other than 'low rent 18s'... and some folks kinda hate the standard 18s on the premium.

As a happy owner of a decked out 2011 gt premium, I have had no significant problems. I recently had to pay $200 to have a knocking problem coming from my ac system, fixed in my dash. That is my only repair. I enjoy my car every time I get behind the wheel.

1st year Coyote here and mine has been fine. I work for a Ford dealership (so please stop calling them stealerships) and we just sold an '11 5.0L for $21,950 that had about 30K miles on it (it was a base 5.0L with cloth interior). If the one you're looking at is a premium model, then $24,898 probably isn't a bad price.

Got to look at the car: Definitely not a Premium GT, going to do some calling around tommorow.

@Bucko, Im sorry that I didn't dig deeper for the MCA discount, but with a $2000 rebate plus $950 in local rebates I am going to search around my area (Chattanooga, TN)

go to fordpartner.com

type in the code eaa01 that'll show you x-plan price. base '13 GT on X-Plan $29,416. They have $1,500 cash back in my zip code right now. If you "order" brochures from ford.com they will send you a brochure with "retail cash back" vouchers. $250, $500, or $750. Order a few and get the $750 if you are lucky. That give you $2250 off of the already discounted XPlan price. Out the door you can take home a brand new 2013 Mustang GT Coupe for $27,166.

With X Plan, it's a set price, no haggling or bull****. To qualify all you have to do is join the Mustang Club of America. Just a $50 due to join the MCA.

I did this on my '13 Mustang GT Premium Convertible. Sticker was $45,065. XPlan Brought it down to $42,314 - and then with with all discounts $40,064. All that before I even put money down or anything.

Plus -- I almost forgot. Instead of charging you an additional $750 for processing and delivery and crap, they can only charge $750, so for any misc crap you also save a lot.

God it makes me sick that my car is a 45k car, and I've modded it a lot already, with 70 more payments to go..

I love my 2011, automatic trans. But the 12s have a few niceties that the 11s do not:
Interior vanity mirror lights.
Interior visor-mounted HomeLink.
Adjustable steering settings.
Adjustable front head-rests.
For your info...good luck!

Having owned both an '11 GT Premium and a '12 GT Premium, my impression was that the '11 was actually slightly better in build quality. Other than the minor model year differences cited above, I would consider an '11 equal to a '12.

One note: my '12 was an early model year car (built in early June 2011) and it lacked the adjustable headrests, so I bought a pair from MRT that basically do the same thing as the '13 headrests. So the adjustable headrests were a running change made some time during the 2012 model year run.

That's about what I paid for my 2011, GT....M6, premium in July, 2012...BUT, mine only had 2,400 miles on the clock. It was/is pristine. To me, it was a brand new car.

All in all, that is not a horrible price, if the car is perfect. (and , it's an auto, which is an option) My 2011 runs great, and the slightly notchy MT82 was 100% fixed by the additiion of Redline MTL. Now, it's perfect.
