Funny/akward moments

Do y'all ever have these weird moments like I was sitting in the drive through and I had my window down cause I was next to order. Then the guy behind me is yelling hey guy! I look and he goes they make the 5.0 again in those? Haha I was like yeah just the 2011+ models. To me it was super akward but oh well good times in the stang.

I had a moment like that yesterday....a guy walks outta nowhere while im cleaning my car and ask me who the original designer of the mustang was?! I look up and he's standing there like we were on some million dollar tv show...I answer Lee Iacocca and he says yes and walks away! Very weird moment

Lee Iacocca is arguably the "father" of the Mustang, as it was he who oversaw its development, but he was not the actual designer of the original Mustang.

He passed away not too long ago either...

I'm glad you guys are able to have some of those memories. The Mustang was more available in the South before it made it's way back up North. I ordered my car before they were released and had an earlier 05. Well, when I drove that thing back home from Florida to Ohio, people just stared. Maybe everyone didn't have a comment, but everyone had a stare and I never had so many thumbs up with a bright red new Mustang on a gloomy Ohio day. Good times.

So. MD is awash in mustangs, and even 05+ mustangs, but there are less than a half dozen 5.0s, and mine is, to my knowledge, the only one with a glass roof, so I get a lot of stares as well - especially from other mustang owners! They're like OOOOOOH 5.0!

My favorite was when some guy in a 325i thought he could beat me. Now the way I race is up to the speed limit - not past - but even by 45, halfway through 2nd gear when I let off, I was at least 2 car lengths in front of him. Feelsgoodman.jpg

Same with Northern VA. A decent amount of 2005-2009's and they're always dirty as hell and usually a V6.

What a shame.

Yeah, it really is. There are a few more V8s around here since I'm at a military base and you know how us military boys like our V8s , but they're mostly SN95s or Fox bodies.

I get "Nice California Shelby", "Nice CS....what does that mean", and "To bad that GT/CS does not have a 5.0". I laugh, maybe bark a tire, and drive off. Of course, if there is one guy really spouting knowledge of the California Shelby to his friends or girl, I will normally stop and correct his info, then laugh hard.....

At cruise ins, when the hood is up, several comment that they like the stealth look of no 5.0 badges once they see what is under the hood. I have shocked more than one car on the street.

I got my Grabber Blue 2010 V6 Base last June. Here's a few of my moments:

I live near a college - the first time I drove through the coffee shop after school started, the kid who took my order yelled "it's the blue Mustang" & 6 kids rushed to the take out window to see my car.

I was stopped at a red light and a cruiser pulled up in the lane next to me. The officer motioned for me to roll down my window. When I did he said "nice car - love the color!"

I pulled into the parking lot of a local pizza shop and a group of college kids gave my car a standing ovation.

I came out of a store and an older man was looking at my car and actually crying. He said "that's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." He also told me he was restoring a '70 and just decided to paint it the same color as mine. Appropriate - it's Grabber Blue after all.

If I had a nickel for every thumbs up or "nice car!" it would be paid off all ready.

I was looking at a gt500 this weekend with a buddy. The sales lady was telling me about the car after I opened the hood and stated "this 2008 cobra has a stage 2 turbo".... I wanted to throw her into the core of the death star like vader did to his master..

I don't think there are that many 2011+ GT 5.0's in Canada, that I have seen at least, but I am constantly getting comments of the "great / nice car" style.

And yes surprising how many rice burners think they can still take a Mustang but don't realise the 2011+ is a new animal (not that I race any )

Maybe that's because nobody knows what a 2011 "Boss" Mustang V6 is?
