FULL EXHAUST, what's the difference between Catted x and off road?

I was told from someone at Livernois that there was NO horsepower difference between the two and that if I get an off road x pipe with the LT and Catbacks I would smell gas.

Is this true?

What's the difference between the two?

off road xpipe has no catalytic converters. So theres nothing there removing the real toxic stuff coming out of the engine. Catted xpipe still has them but they're high flow CCs.

I doubt there is much if any HP difference, current generation of high flow cats do flow very well.

they are called "off road" because they are not legal for use on the road because they don't have catalytic converters

I can't say from personal experience, but I have read and it makes sense, that the pipes with the cats have a "smoother" sound because the cats act sort of like mufflers; without the cats the sound is raspier and louder

Technically the catted x-pipes aren't legal, at least not for long tube headers, since they relocate the cats.

And yes, the cats do act as resonators cutting some of the noise.
