Fuel Survey

Just curious what octane fuel everyone will be using for their new GT. I ran high test (92) in my previous gt's. I'm sure my question is answered in the owners manual.

Ford recommends 91 octane for full factory, SAE-rated 412 HP.
Regular Octane 87... brings you down 12 HP 8 TQ if I'm not mistaken...

me personally ill be running regular most of the time except if i want to go to track(rare)

IMHO running a good name brand regular is better than running a higher octane cheap gas.

I have a Brenspeed tune that requires 93, and it's worth every premium penny!

Can't get 93 out here. And with 87 topping $3 this week it looks like that's what I'll be running except for a few fun tanks of 91 when I have a few extra bucks. Thankfully my stock Bullitt tune lets me choose.

94 is available here as well, but not everywhere.

We have 93 here, and its what I run now in my '02 GT only because I randomly like to spray my 100 shot of N2O.

With the '11 on order I'll be running 91, the recommended.

And +1 on brand being a bigger factor. Get a Mobil or Sunoco and not Manny's Corner Gas Station.

87 octane most of the time. 91 only if I'm sure I'll have an opportunity for a little WOT.

Is your drive to work > 500 ft? If so then you have the opportunity for WOT. At least in my book

Same here. Oregon has only had 91 until the past few years when 10% eth was mandated year round. Then it crept to 92. But I think that's because ethonal has a higher octane (though lower energy) content. So I think its still 91 octane dinosaur with 10% eth mixed in.

I don't know how or why some areas get 94??

That may be true but the engine was not certified on 91 US AKI.

They ran RON 98 (93 US AKI) in the SAE J1349 Certification and made 416/394.
They are allowed a +/- 1% variance so rated it at 412/390.

They made 404/381 on RON 91 (87 US AKI).
Again derated to 400/377.
