I hope its nothing expensive. I barely have any extra cash for now and cant afford to pay for something more than 100-150 bucks. Cuz then id be about flat broke.
I kinda wanna take it by autozone and see if theres an error code that would indicate something like that and see how i could fix ir on a botom dollar budget.

But if someone is willing to help me out it would be greatly appreciated

Get a MGW shifter with their classic white **** and you'll kill 2 problems with one small pile of cash.

I never rest my hand on the shifter, but I have no idea why that would be bad for anything. Unless you're pressing down on it with force...but I'm not sure why anyone would do that. As far as the shifter getting too cold or too hot, just cover it with a dash duster or some type of cloth.

I was taught :
One foot on the brake and one on the gas. Too much traffic I can't pass.
Or maybe that is a song that is in my head when driving

Check your coolant level. Low coolant effects heater performance. Consider driving gloves.

I took an old sock, cut the toe off about 4" back, folded it up once and hemmed it on the sewing machine, then kept it in the cup holder. Pop it on and all's well, cold or hot out.

Lol, first world problems

I can see the infomercial now (cue a pretty actress and some music by Sarah McLachlan)...

"Somewhere in the unforgiving suburban sprawl, a man is heading to work to earn substinence for his unappreciative teenagers and loving wife... His hand freezes as he shifts the gears, but he presses on. For just $0.58 a day- less than the cost of a cup of coffee- you can end his suffering. Won't you look in your heart and end his suffering. Your sponsorship will provide the short throw shifter- and ceramic ball- that will end this tragedy. In return, you will receive a picture of his 2014 Mustang GT..."

Check coolant. Possibly flush heater core which could be why you get heat with more rpms bc the water pump is slightly forcing it through a blockage

Two more cylinders would equal more heat
Would get that checked...bad thermostat or something keeping the engine from getting to operating temperature or coolant too low

I have the stock (aluminum?) shifter on my 5.0, and when it's -30 outside my hand also gets cold. That thing stays mighty cd for about 15 minutes of normal driving.
You should: 1) invest in gloves 2) let it idle with the heat on re-circulate for 20 minutes.
