Exclamation fritzOSU03 was right! re: "A pillar"

Much to my chagrin, Fritz was right when he said that one of the reasons for the hold was the "A pillar".

I humbly offer my apology for calling BS on that and submit to you "exhibit A" (pillar).

I never doubted it once Evo Tech confirmed it. It just seemed silly that they'd keep producing them and then have to wait so long to ship them out.

FWIW, I heard that originally from someone on here but I don't remember who. My salesman also told me that it was the a-pillar trim originally but called me on Friday to tell me that it's because of a clutch issue and that the a-pillar trim was never an issue. Dealers are so informed.

Better to keep producing than stop the factory for a week over a trim piece, though annoying. As the other guy said, the new trim probably went to the factory first so that they could limit the number of cars that needed post production work, while the rest were delayed and worked on and then released, thus why later cars were getting shipped out at the same time as ones built two or three weeks sooner.

Oh well, now all of us can tell everyone that our cars were delayed by a trim piece!

You should sniff at each of them to see if the A pillar smells fresher than the B pillar. /creepy

yeah- creepy... may I sniff your "a pillar", ma'am?

Another thing struck me as odd: my car had 26 miles on it when I started it up. Sounds like someone else got the first joy ride.

the 26 miles was from each of them taking a turn each day to get lunch at the carryout up the street

mine then should have around 50 miles when it shows up, it was built 2 weeks before yours

!bastids!

Sadly, they all likely went through the extended QC procedure due to the clutch issues. Remember we'd heard that Ford was putting all retail orders through extra scrutiny, and mine went offsite without a clear reason. I really suspect it had its clutch replaced, which suits me as long as the new clutch will go to 7000 RPM just fine.
