Wow dude. I am REALLY impressed with that PS. I just opened up the original that you used for that from my collection and I am very impressed. You even added a shadow that looked PERFECTLY laid across the face plate and controls. I wish I had half your skills.

That brings up a question that may have been answered or mentioned:

Is this DVD based still or is it HDD based navigation?

If it can play DVDs (parked) then you don't need the navi on at that point, so it could still be DVD based. However, I just read the part about 10Gb HDD for music. Does that mean it's HDD based and part of that will be for the maps and points and stuff?

If it's HDD based, then how is one supposed to update their NAV mapping software every year or two? You'd still have to order a DVD-Rom for that, wouldn't you?

Unless I'm stuck in traffic, or in a situation where I need to be in a motionless car for an extended period of time, I just can't see watching a movie in my car .

I wonder if anyone has hacked the system yet to allow movies to play while in motion?

I got along without it for so many years. I'm sure I can make due. But I do like the other stuff it has to offer.

How about instead of renting a movie with your significant other and watching it at home, you rent it and take her to a place with a view. Watch the movie there and you know the rest .

I do?

Nope, I don't think so.

Can you elaborate in MUCH greater detail?

I could see it as a cool feature if you drive someone somewhere and have to wait a bit.
but for how often I do that... I can count on one hand.

Somehow I find uses for things like that that I may not have thought of or knew I needed until I have it! In other words, if it's there, I'll use it somehow! Maybe put a driving DVD in there and take lessons in/from your car! How appropriate.

Has anyone posted if their is any changes between the 2008 and 2009 Navigation radio. I have contacted several suppliers and they do not have an answer.

It's too bad so much of this thread is gone.
The 2009 Navigation radio that is HDD based, one assembly (screen integral) and has built in Sirius/travel link is found in trucks, F250, F450, Escapes, and probably a few others. The version for the Escape has blue back lighting.
This will work in a pre 2010 Mustang, but requires a separate amp. You can get the amp that is OEM or make up a T-splice harness (so you don't have to cut wiring) and use an aftermarket amp.
It does work, to use Sirius you obviously need a Sirius antenna but i've found it works fine with the antenna sitting on the rear deck under the back window. It does not need to be externally mounted.
The right antenna will also serve as Nav antenna if you get the OEM antenna splitter.

I think I might have asked this before (the crash), but is there a way to update the maps to European maps? Considering going back to Europe and it would be nice to be able to use the NAV there...

Already asked on www.syncmyride.com, and they said to contact Ford for overseas / military / diplomatic sales... Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Have you tried Navtech. They make the navigation disks for most OEM vehicles.

I contacted them directly, but they said that they don't have any updates available at this point...
