Ford's Next-Generation Navigation System

I got a demo of this in a Flex back in April. This system rocks! You can even get live weather radar! I hope it's an option on the 2010.

Fuel information can be sorted by price, distance or alphabetically.

SIRIUS Travel Link connects users to up-to-date traffic, weather, fuel prices, movie listings, sports scores and more.

Movie listings highlight show times, run lengths and ratings.

The system can sort theaters by distance and direct drivers to the selected location.

Access schedules and scores for your favorite sports teams.

That looks really good. I like that the top and bottom bars continue to provide you with the same information no matter what screen you are on.

In my CX-7 when you are looking at the map you can't see the radio info.

It's amazing what is available with this newest version of navigator. It's going to get to the point where navigation systems provide so much information at your fingertips, that it will be illegal to use while your driving! Soon total integration will be voice and you'll have conversations with your car....just like HAL in 2001 Space Odessey!

Interesting.... How many years will it take for it to show up in the Mustang after the Focus gets it?

i guess ill be driving less and less the more they introduce such things in cars. why you ask?
well seeing that a good majority of people dont pay attention to the road now! and alost sideswipe me, or run a light or stop sign or whatever, now this little added feature will definitely make minority not pat attention to the roadways. what ever happened to just driving? we have to multi-task at driving now?
might not be safe to walk on sidewalks either.....

Won't really make a diff safetywise whether Ford offers it or not.... a lot of aftermarket GPSs have features like this now that people can purchase.

People will always be stupid and make bad judgement on when to do certain things in a car,
electronic or not. I've seen people SHAVE or READ while they are driving... how daft can they be!?!?

I'd rather Ford offer this as an integrated unit right from the factory.

It is an option that the camaro and challenger CANNOT possibly match. PLEASE!!

Beside a 5.0L with 400 hp, I would actually be looking forward to this option the most

Wow, my Nav will be obsolete. Guess I might need to add this as a possible addition later on...or maybe just get a 2010 for a daily driver.

Most likely most of those features will only be available when the car is stationary.

****, and I'll look silly for putting all that effort into a car-puter with those features.. Looks good though, and I would appreciate the instant bootup time, vs my 30 second wait before the music starts playing. :P
