Ford Rebates on 2011s
I'm not sure about employee pricing but it is probably similar to "supplier discount" aka "X-Plan" which is about $300 over invoice
the current rebates are to get rid of the 2010's because the new 2011's are on the way
I would not expect to see any rebates or incentives on the 2011's any time soon
Best bet would be in December . . . in fact I might intentionally plan it that way; order one in time to have it show up in mid-December in hopes that there might be some rebates at that time

I plan on ordering mine in Nov for a Jan 11 delivery as my lease runs out on my 08 Maxima SE so it might work out good for me...if I am lucky of course
If Ford goes through with the layoff (2 shifts to 1, and 35% increase in speed) assuming that the mustang accounts for half of the production:
102,000 / 2 (half mazda) /2 (shift cut) x 1.35 (line increase in speed) thats only 34,425 mustangs a year.
If they have 11,000 requested, thats gona take 4+ months just for those. That also doesn't account for continous future orders. This throws a huge wrench into my plans.

Employee pricing is about 4% less than X-plan (which is about $180 over the factory invoice total), so employee pricing is about $1200 less than the factory invoice total on a typical Mustang GT. Those who qualify for employee pricing or X-plan pricing also get the rebates.
2010 Mustang rebates are big right now ($3500 in the NW on '10 GT's). 2011's will launch with no rebates, and it may be several months before any is needed for a car that appears to be in big demand (given the level of orders already submitted).

I hope that capacity number is way low -- Chevy sold something like 80,000 Camaros in 2009 and it was a short year, so I would think that Ford would plan for something close to that
Its not like the plant capacity is 35,000...
So if they start selling like hot cakes, they can just add a shift and OT.
They lowered the ammount coming out because the 2010s weren't selling as high as normal, and the Mazda6 isn't selling well.
Start selling something that people want, they'll be adding the shift back.

Hey Ricky, I wouldn't expect any Employee pricing on anything anytime soon. Remember, they may do it up in Canada for Ford of Canada, but that doesn't mean it will translate here. Personally, that is a bad idea to do. You give people the best price possible and they still want more.
I would NOT expect Employee Pricing at anytime soon (if ever again). Sales are on the upswing, and Ford is making more money on every transaction now (sale prices are higher than before, pre-rebate). Why would they want to reverse that by adding that promotion?

We are assuming that the economy turns around for good? Political BS doesn't count. What happens after the massive government spending wears off? We have 9.7% unemployment off of the boondoggle federal numbers. Realistic unemployment is probably near 15% optimistically speaking.
The Mustang GT having a near $35K price point is not going to be helping matters.
Car sales are still off substantially from the norm. Ford is doing well by winning back some market share, and Toyota's issues are helping them immensely. Getting back to the Mustang, I think it's only going to be a year or so before there are reasonable discounts (low % financing, and some rebates). It won't be as substantial as the 2010s....but I predict something.

Here's an article on the AAI layoffs. Ford reps are quoted as saying they plan to increase the line speed on the single remaining shift and actually build MORE cars this year than last. Most affected workers will be offered jobs at other plants.
