Does anyone else think the car looks like it has Friendly Mutton Chops?

I still think I'd tint the clear lenses and buy brighter bulbs.

I think you are onto something Brad, I took your Idea but took it a step further. I made those tinted segments connected, forming individual tail light lenses, while covering the back up lights, kinda like the trim that the aftermarket sells for the 05-09's. Then I mounted a set of back up lights in the lower valence/diffuser.

Nice chop Shawn. The C6 Corvettes have the reverse lights mounted very similar to that, and it does help break up all that expanse of black plastic.

I meet with Ford in about 7 hours, will start the CAD design work soon after. I already have some sketches of what I want to do, we'll get 'er fixed up in no time at all.

Then I'll meet with the Ford Racing boys later this week - not sure what they thought with that mess shown, but I've got the ears of a few people that might be able to "make it right".
if they must have the ugly mutton chops, can they make them look like the ones on the V6...

Thanks Buster. I didn't wanna say that about the back up lights, but yeah, the Vette was the design inspiration for putting the back ups down there. It does help break it up down there, but it also draws your eye down there too. It's a double edged sword.

Don't like it.

Would it look stupid if the reverse lights were inside the license plate opening, one on each side? Or would they be too close together?

There is just too much going on on that car for my taste. any one thing by it's self might not be bad, but all together just makes it too busy.

Them are just some poor looking accessories. The car would look much better without any of them. All these cars we see in the real world are full of these. Would be nice to see a few naked ones.
That really is some JC Whitney stuff.

The side scoops and window louvers look good, the rear spoiler is just okay , but the hood scoop is way too big.

Meh, looks like someone set his teenage kid loose in Pep Boys car-bling aisle, all the usual lockstep performance styling cliches -- bump-on-a-lump hood scoop, Dumbo-ear side scoops and rear wing/spoiler -- none of which likely does anything for actual performance and certainly less for the looks.

Oh, and not to forget the Mustang-must-have quarter window "vents" to create gaping blind spots in service to the illusion that there actually are vents there for some odd reason ("I'm a regular judge at chili cookoffs and need all the ventilation I can get on my way back home...").

But of course, all this oh-so predictable "customization" will make these Stangs look different, just like every other Stang with pretty much the same kitsch glue-gunned on.

Well it could Always Be Worse...

We could have ended up with a downsized mustang based on a smaller Ford Platform like Ford gave us in the 70's.

Gentleman, I give you.....

The MUSTANG III.
