Exclamation Ford Racing Adjustable Struts. HELP

Can someone please help me, I have a 2014 GT manual with the TP. I have installed the M-18000-C struts with the 5300K springs, and the GT500 strut mount M18318-C. Can someone please tell me if I am going to need camber bolts? I am going to take my car to ford to be lined up. I just want to be prepared. I have head from some that I don't and some tell me I do.

Can you guys Please Help

Thanks in advance.

I have the same setup as you. I got the whole kit with sway bars and pan hard bar and that came with all new hardware including camber bolts. If you look at the bottom bolt hole in the strut you will see that they punched a little tab next to the hole that the cam on the bolt pushes against. The hole will have to be ground out to form a slot to allow for adjustment. There is an instruction sheet on the Ford Racing website in the on line catalog. The important thing is to not grind the slot larger than the non-painted area around the existing hole and maintaing the hole diameter in the up-down dimension (only enlarge it sideways.) Others here have said that you can get away without enlarging the hole but you'll be on the edge of acceptable alignment. My upper strut mount with the adjuster is centered in the mount just like the original struts. My guess is if you don't grind out the hole, it will be all the way to one side.

Another thing you may note if you haven't played around with them yet is the dampening adjustments on the shocks and struts. When i went to adjust mine they were set to full hard. The total range of adjustment is 6 turns from full hard but there is no full soft stop - they just keep turning and you don't want to go beyond 6 turns. The other thing is there is no resistence in the adjustment screws - they feel very loose when you are adjusting them. I called Ford Racing and they said this was normal. I've started mine at 3 turns out but haven't played around with it much yet. The sway bars defiantly make a nice difference though and the 1 inch drop really helps the appearance too. Hope this helps.

The kit scottv and I installed has the P springs in it. Mine without any thing other then bolting up was 1.2-1.4 deg camber. Stock specs is .7 +/-.75 so still in spec. Yours might be about 1.5-1.7 you have a 1/2 further drop then I do with the K springs. If you take it to the ford dealer, the suspension guys should know to notch the strut to adjust camber. Its in the ford service manual how to do it. You definitely want to get the toe checked, to make sure its dead nuts center of specs. You should not need nor should you use the thin camber bolts. 1.2 to 1.3 is where mine is now and it's great for cornering! Tail of the Dragon calls me ! lol.
