Cool Ford Nickel and Diming Us

Anyone else notice that every fluid capacity is just a little more than what is in the container?

I just bought oil, rear end oil and friction modifier.

Oil needs 8.5 qts - whether you buy two gallons or 8 qts, you still have to buy that extra quart for the 1/2.

Rear end oil needs 5 pints - only sold in quarts (2 pints each), you have to buy an extra quart to get the extra pint.

Friction modifier requires 5 oz. - only sold in 4 oz bottles, you have to buy an extra bottle to get the extra oz.

Extras =
$13.00 qt oil
$23.04 rear end oil
$9.80 friction modifier

Total of $45.84

I might sound paranoid - but just multiply that times 10 million = half a billion dollars

Eff me!

Just how exactly does this have anything to do with Ford? If anything you ought to be putting blame on the fluid manufacturers such as Exxon-Mobil, Castrol, Quaker State and so on for nickel and diming the consumer, as they choose what the fluid capacities are despite what the auto industry standards happen to be. Btw: GM, Ford and Fiat/Chrysler all go by the same fluid capacity standards. Therefore it's the fluid manufacturers who should be responsible rather than put the blame on Ford according to your post
