Ford body shop generally okay????
Ford body shop generally okay????
Got hit on the front bumper (paint scratch) and the estimate is $629.99 to pull and repaint it. Anything bad about dealerships doing it? Anything I should watch out for?
Will it be just as good as factory?

Some of the small dealers here contract their body work out now... even ones that used to 'own' the boyshop themselves. I think you'd have more 'rights' if was dealer owned.
the dealership and the "factory" have zero to do with each other. I wouldn't let a dealers body shop go anywhere near my car. look around for a quality body shop in your area. Insurance is paying no matter who does the work.
Well actually I could get some touch up paint
Did this to my 01 back in 06

She went to th Ford dealer here in town and there was no way to tell she was even scratched afterwards. Required everthing to be replaced fender hood nose a pillar trim even had to have the rim redone. Honestly I'd say better than new because there was a hood fender alignment issue on this side from day 1. ..... I fixed that lol

I was in the military and moved a lot in the past. When I had body issues, I always wen to the dealership. If they didn't do it, they had a shop to recommend, and either way, the quality was always perfect. I think its a good choice if you don't have other personal recommendations.
I work at a body shop and my recommendation would be to skip the dealer shops and find a local owned shop that's established. Shops that are too big will often view your car as a "number" but smaller established shops will often take pride in their work and respect you as their customer. Good luck!
