First time Mustang owner, couple of questions

Hey everyone, first time posting here as a first time Mustang owner. Been driving F-150s my whole life, but I'm moving for work soon and I need a slightly more practical (but still enjoyable) daily driver. So I recently purchased a 2013 3.7L V6 Ingot Silver Mustang Convertible w/automatic transmission (truck is going to be come a garage queen/weekend warrior).

I'm still trying to figure out trim packages for this gen Mustang. I'm pretty sure it is a "V6 base" model, that happens to have the "Pony Package." When I was searching for a Mustang to buy, the main feature I was looking for was leather seats and this one has them. Just curious on the trim level so I'm using the right terminology.

On to my actual questions:
1. The stock headlights are kind of underwhelming compared to the light output I am used to with the custom HIDs I have in my F-150. Should I upgrade the bulbs or buy aftermarket LED headlights?
2. I noticed that the side view mirrors have the "Pony logo" puddle lights. They are very dim and very blurry/distorted. Are there replacement bulbs/assemblies for these so I can just have a regular puddle light feature? The logo projection on the ground is cool I guess, but if I can get a higher output regular puddle light then I would rather have that.
3. The leather on the steering wheel is a little worn. I'd prefer to buy a new replacement, but all I have had luck finding are used ones on ebay. Anyone have a good part number or link to where I could purchase a new steering wheel? Whenever I have found new ones, they have the "alcantara" wrap on some of the wheel, which mine doesn't have. I'm not against going with that option, I'm just not sure if I'd like it.
4. I'd like to get a weathertech/husky/similar brand trunk liner, but most online retailers indicate these products won't fit a convertible. Does anyone make a trunk liner specific for convertible model Mustangs?

Appreciate any input!

To figure out what options and trim level you have, you could Google the 2013 Mustang brochure, and that will tell you what was available, and you might be able to follow the clues to figure out what you have. There used to be an on-line window sticker lookup which was awesome for this, but I don't think it works anymore.

You probably have the base headlights. Aftermarket HID kits often are a nightmare and they blind oncoming drivers if not done right. I'd probably just buy the best bulbs available and live with it.

Try searching on here about the puddle lights, it might have been mentioned/addressed before.

The "alcantara" is nice, if it's not worn out; but make sure the steering wheel is compatible with the same controls as you have. I think there are some threads on here about that too.

I don't know about the trunk liner.

Finally, welcome to the forum and we hope you enjoy your "new to you" stang!

Much appreciated!

The OE headlights are the projectors with DRLs but I know HIDs can perform better than the stock bulbs.

Looks like replacement puddle light assemblies are common and replacing them isn't too difficult.

As for the wheel, I just need to double check the button array I have on the left side--I haven't familairized myself with the car enough to remember what the steering looks like when I'm looking at the different models online.

The Correct Wheel is still Available

Might Consider Some Aux Lights Like This one on a Cervini Grille Equipped Car. Just an Example of Appearance Would Require Some Other Mods To Mount Etc.

If it is a 2013 you already have HID's. Mine are leaps and bounds over the Halogens in my 2010.
The Pony Package is upgraded from a V6 Premium, not a base model. Since you have the puddle lamps you should have the passenger power seat and the security package with the back up sensors.
OK Kevin, you can ban me now for picking on the new guy, but this just irks the crap out of me

The overwhelming output of the HID's in the truck are probably because they are blinding other drivers. Park the Mustang in front of the truck and turn on the headlights to see what other drivers are/are not seeing when you come at them. BTW I am a professional driver and get blinded by Custom HID's and LED's 20-30 times everyday so that is a sore spot with me.

I never said I have overwhelming, ****-off, blind everyone-HIDs in my truck. I did say the Mustang's headlights are underwhelming. My truck's HIDs are in projector housings and aimed more than low enough. I have never been flashed a single time driving around even the darkest of roads with them since I installed them.

If the light output is that bad it might just need to have the bulbs changed out since as I said they are already HID's from the factory. Changing out the bulbs in my F150 did brighten things up, but I went from one and the burnt out bulb to 2 good 6000K bulbs instead of the 4300K. They are 10-11 year old bulbs although mine are still pretty bright.

I Had an 08 Shelby with those first gen HIDs I guess you would call them (as far as in a Mustang) and the difference between them and the next gen HIDs in my 11 Shelby was drastic. Much more output and coverage area.
Haven't had the new one in the dark yet, so it remains to be seen how they compare.

The ones in the 13-14 are the same HID light as the 11, they just added the Accent LED Light bars in them instead of having the 2 filament bulbs for the marker turn/light.

I thought so but wasn't sure.. But I meant I haven't seen how the ones in my 22 are in the dark.
