side question for you all experienced folk: How do you do a decent "burnout" in our cars or in general? I've never done one, ever. I would like to know how before I ever sell her. hahahaha

You better not sell her, unless maybe to me

haha... you know EVERYthing is for sale right?

But seriously, I was just saying, maybe I "should" try to go to the strip just once, to really see what she can do. hehe. Some day. Ok, knowing me, who am I kidding, I'd be too worried of the tar/tacky stuff on the track sticking to my paint

Go to the track and watch the guys that are consistent. Look for cars that are like yours relatively stock and with street tires and watch how they burn out If they do and how they launch. Go to the pits and ask them. They will usually share there tricks with you.

Don't do it to soon!! LOl you will be addicted.

For me, since I don't have a line lock (which I recommend) . . . .put Mach in second, rev until 5500-6000rpm, dump clutch and transfer left foot to brake and push down on the gas pedal . . . . with drag radials. I never/don't perform burnouts in the box with street tires. I would drive around the burnout area.

And rear pads/rotors still in great shape . . . even after 10+ years of ownership.

The tar comes right off when you get home with some water and a microfiber cloth. With the amount of protectant we put on our cars, it will be fine

Go and run on the strip but make sure you get good pics if not a video to show us!

You can also tape your quarter panels, green masking tape, etc.

Don't overthink it a first; used to do that sometimes but then once just drove around waterbox, no burnout of any kind, launched not so hard at unknown rpm that I thought would avoid spin/wheelhop (kinda like getting on freeway on-ramp e-ticket ride; just 'felt' right) and wound up at 12.8 @112mph w/ seemingly little abuse. Can't even remember if I took TC off or not...did it over and over again so it can be consistent.

Sure, you can work on the craft and get better but me, I just go, have a little fun in time trials and usually head home before the actual eliminations start.
