First Drag Race... Sucked but FUN!!
Was nervous as hell, but had a lot of fun. Don't care that i ran low 14s and one high 13 (13.912@105.45). Learned a lot for the next time i am out.

One out in Ennis, TX. Not sure about the helmet rules... Seems like the people running faster times had to have them but the slower ones (like me) it didn't seem they bothered. I'll have one for next time though, just to be safe.

I remember my first time which wasnt too long ago in my 12' GT Auto, it can be addicting, especially after tweaking things for optimal times. (Btw I am talking about my first time going to the track lol).
At the track near me you dont need a helmet if ur running 14s and up. The other day that I went I didnt have a helmet so i was just practicing reaction times and 1/8th times.

Nice job! It's addicting isn't it?
And everybody has their first time at the track so there's no such thing as "suck" your first time. ![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
What you are doing is exactly right your first few times at the track. Don't worry so much about all the details yet. Just get comfortable going down the track. Your little spin at the beginning is perfect too. No point in burning your street tires to the ground as you'll see a lot of people do. Notice that those who spin their street tires the most and make all that smoke will spin like crazy at the line.![Smile](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Just make little incremental changes each time down the track. Find only one thing you didn't like about your last run and then try to fix that one thing. Don't try to make a bunch of changes in one run.
But most important, just have fun and don't worry about making mistakes. Everybody makes them. I've had hundreds of passes and I still make stupid mistakes every now and then.

Haha good times. I'd recommend driving gloves at least. I've only been once, and my palms were pretty clammy lol. I was supposed to go this week, but dang Indy is in town, so Sonoma is closed for their prepping. Will probably go next week.

I was really sorry to see what happened to Plasman's car. He's on this site, also.
