First 2 days in '13 GT Convertible. My first impressions...

Love Love Love...

So little road noise. Love the rumble of the stock exhaust. not too obnoxious but it does turn heads. The shaker sound is awesome and with the ultra quiet cabin, it's simple pleasure. I like the modest accent lighting. Just enough to be useful without being tacky. Lit up cup holders is brilliant. As with my focus, they sit right under your arm so i only order 'tall' or 'small' cups now LOL! Small sacrifice
She PULLS PULLS PULLS, even through 5th for highway passing.
I have the hankook wintercept 235 50r 18's and they make no road noise. nice for the odd patches of ice here and there.
Gearing is tight and i've only managed to look like a fool twice.
I had the top down for an hour on sunday during a warm spell. with the windows up it's actually ok for draft and noise. With top up and windows down the in-draft to cabin is really minimal. nice aerodynamics.
The no-back roll feature on inclines is nice for red lights. Don't have to compensate when the light turns green.
Single cd player is kinda too bad. NOt sure if higher end packages have a changer or not. I didn't bother with nav. I really like the simplistic muscle car interior. no frills. semi comfy seats (leather) and the overall ergos are good for me (5'11, 190lbs).
Nice deep trunk with minimal intrusion from the convertible top.
Good tight steering and nicely wrapped steering wheel. It's a true cockpit kind of feel. just don;t drop a cd in the passenger leg area. It's GONE till you pull over lol!
The sync system is pretty good for microphone and speaker sound.
I went for the no frills basic muscle/sportscar combo hence no nav, backup camera etc. Just plain ol 6spd manual and a solid stereo
No complaints so far. The deep impact blue is an amazing color and the stock spoke rims are growing on me...at least until i put on the shelby wheels
Big plus: she fits in the garage with my f150 nicely.

Look into copying (ripping) your CDs to a large capacity USB thumb drive. With Sync you can play music from your USB drive using voice commands. I've got one setup waiting for my vert to show up. My drive has over 250 albums on it. I can provide more info if you need it.

I pretty much have had the same experience... Coming from an '06 Vert, this car just feels better. Interior, fit & finish, acceleration, everything is just better! I haven't used the CD player, but the bluetooth audio from my phone has worked great (as well as plugging in my iPod)! Overall, it is the best Mustang I have ever driven...

I don't have a 13 but I have an 04 terminator and 11 Shelby which are both convertibles.

Both are downright enjoyable but in different ways.

The new convertibles 11+ really closed the gap vs the coupe on being a solid chassis and removed many of the age old vert issues. The perfect car for a Sunday cruise in relaxation with wicked acceleration on command.

The 04 terminator commands your attention at all times and involves the driver more. With 550hp (modded) it will put a smile or a look of terror on your face in a second. Rides rougher, finish is sub par compared to the new cars. Stereo sucks but the exhaust note is glorious.

Long live verts.

great idea, but i've never been able to get my ipod to work long term with my sync. It always seems to crash after a while.

I too have a convertible. also a '13 GT

Single best modification:

GT500 Axlebacks. Seriously transformed the car. It's still quiet until you're WOT and really on it, but still mild. By far it has been the #1 best mod I've done thus far. I'm hoping that when I do a cat delete that it's still relatively quiet.

No cats and gt500 combo sounds great. You will like the sound, not the smell.

Axelbacks are the muffler portion that goes from the axel back to the rear of the car. Go on lethal performance.com and look up exhaust axelback and you will see a picture.

Exhaust note is a very subjective topic. Many different people have their favorite. That being said the GT500 are regarded universally as a good sound axelback. There are others that are quiter and many that are much louder.

They are fairly inexpensive compared to many especially Borla and Corsa.
