Finally found some over the axle GT500 pipes.

I have the single tip GT500 AB on my 14 GT. So many people have recommended the resonator delete for this setup that I wanted to try it. I didn't want to hack up my factory OTA pipes just in case I didn't like the sound. I thought about going with the Borla OTA pipes but didn't really want to pay the price.

Last night on CL, I saw a post of someone parting out a 2013 GT500 because of an electrical engine fire that totaled out the car. The car was about 170 miles away from me but as luck would have it, I had a friend that was visiting relatives in the same city and he was willing to go pick them up for me. The place was only 12 miles from the relatives house.

So they sold me both pipes for $200 and the car only had 2,400 miles on it. My friend said the pipes look like new. Car had a lot of other nice parts and was the same color as mine but a lot of the Shelby specific parts were priced pretty high. I think so far they have only sold the wheels, seats, and the OTA pipes.

So by the end of the week I should get and install them. I will be curious on how the sound will be compared to just the GT500 mufflers with resonators. I like how they sound now so hopefully I will like them better without the resonators.

Very interested. If possible, take pics of the stock vs. GT500 pipes.

I have 2012 GT500 mid pipes and axle backs on my 2014 GT and I like the way they sound. I did both at the same time so I do not know how much different it will be.

I will take some comparison photos so people can see the difference side by side.

I like how the car sounds now so hopefully I will like it even more with the GT500 OTA pipes.

He did still have both of those when I talked to him but the valence goes with the rear bumper and he wants $850 for both. I doubt he will separate them but you can check. The mufflers are $450 for the pair. He does ship. Here is a link to the CL add so you can call him if you want.

Thanks buddy. Multiple vendors have them for about the same price new, so I'll pass for now. I'm sure he'll get someone to buy them though.

No problem. He is kind of high on his prices. I would bet he will eventually have to drop his prices because most people are not going to pay the asking prices.

Since that car is the same color as mine, I would have liked to have the trunk lid and spoiler and some other stuff but I just can't afford it right now. I thought $200 wasn't too bad for the OTA pipes since I know that the Borla and Lethal ones are higher than that and I would prefer to have factory Ford pieces anyway.

I should have them tomorrow when my friend comes back in town.

Yeah $200 for the OTA pipes is a good deal, especially with the low miles.

You might try calling him and see if he will take less for the mufflers and tell him that the price he has them listed for is what they are going for new. Plus new ones will have some type of warranty while his used ones won't.

Those look nice. I've heard those are some kind of shield but I'm not sure where they would go. If you hold the pipes in place, it might be obvious. Are they big enough to go around the outside of the pipes?

I don't think most people use them from what I have read. You might call Borla and see what they say.

They seem like thick metal and good looking welds so I'm sure they will do the trick. The two orange pieces can stretch so I assume they go over the pipes hope to put them on this weekend so I will see if there's an obvious location.

Installed my borla ota's last night and was a very easy install took a little less than an hour. Figment was great better than oem IMO less bends easier to put these in than to remove oem.

I've got a set of those mufflers for sale for 350 plus shipping. Changed my mind after I bought them.

Did you do yours up on a lift because I can't get my factory OTA pipes out from under the car. I've tried every which way and they will not come out. I have the front end up on Rhino ramps and the back end is up higher than the front on jack stands. I'm just going to put everything back together and take it somewhere that has a lift and pay to have it done. It may be a week or two before I have time to take it anywhere. You have to have an appointment for everything around here. Very frustrated at the moment.

No I didn't have it very high and they pretty much fell out. You have to lower the axle so it's ok to jack it up by the axle but all stands on the frame. Here is a pick of how high it was
