Hey Woodrow, EVERYONE pays it, even A/Z-Plan people. I paid it on my 2006 GT and I get D-Plan. Its there and it won't ever go away.

Yeah, I paid it. At first, I thought it was BS but then I read about others paying it here so I didn't feel bad about it. The fleet guy said it was a Ford regional advertising charge that everyone paid.

I could also see it helping make fair competition around rival plants. Imagine how hard it would be to sell a Camaro in Detroit if it cost the local Ford dealership $10 to ship their cars in from the factory down the street when the local Chevy dealership paid $1000 to get their car in.
The $850 is a flat contracted rate between ford and their preferred carriers. YOu can't get around it as it's a REAL cost on the invoice (not discounted either). If you were to take a factory delivery of a new Corvette at the Factory, you still pay that averaged shipping cost, even though the trucking Company only moves the car 1/2 mile from the factory to the Museum where the deliveries take place..

What do you think about a special fee for a minority dealer. Its called MDA. While its only $15.00 I don't see why Ford practices racial favoritism. All dealers should be treated equal and so should the customers.

I think that's the dealers choice. Association assessments are almost always voluntary. Don't like it, tell him you won't pay it.
