I'd say Turbocharge that lighter 3.7 liter and let'r rip! I seen that 3.7 liter car at the Dealerships and they are really nice. More room in the engine compartment for mods and all as well.

I believe someones going to put a really nasty Turbo on the 3.7 which is going to rival the Buick Grand Nationals of the day!

---and also going to be strong against even the 5.0!

lol I got the first 2010 Mustang GT in the 10's. Glad to see the first 2011's in the 11's.

The Software/Hardware is not available to the public. This is something we're keeping in-house ONLY so tunes for the 5.0L and 3.7L can be developed over the next few weeks!

Although the heads flow amazing already, I think there's always room for improvement, but
if the aftermarket is able to significantly increase the CFM, will it negatively effect velocity? The cams will probably be 1500 and then another 400-450 or more for valvetrain, so you're looking at almost 3k including install.


If 10's N/A are even possible with this car on the stock shortblock with an aggressive top end, it'll have to cost $12-15,000 or heck maybe more.


Here's an estimated total of the mods it may take to run 10's N/A in a new 5.0.


Cams- $2000 w/ valvetrain est
Heads- $3000 est
Headers/Midpipe- $1700 est
CAI- $400 est
Dynotune- around $300
Catback Exhaust- $820
Bogarts w/ M/T Skinnies and ET Streets- $2200
LCA's/UCA- $300
Driveshaft- $900 est
K-Member/A-Arms- $950 est



That's $12,570 in mods, not including install, gaskets, and fluids. So yeah it would be expensive to run 10's N/A if at all possible.

4 cams for the 5.0 shouldn't be appreciably more than cams for other 4 valve fords.

So, what does a set of cams cost for a GT500 or Cobra?

I think they will be somewhat more expensive because it's a completely new engine and I'm not even sure that prior 4v cams are compatible. MMR sells GT500 Comp Cams for 1300, titanium retainers and upgraded springs for 900, and heads for 3200-3600. I do not like using MMR in any reference because they carry a bad reputation, but they're the only place that really sells GT500 valvetrain, cams, and heads unless you count FRPP selling the Ford GT cams as an upgrade for the GT500.

With that kind of power....if you can take out enough weight without making a shell of the car....proper suspension, driving, gearing, good track, etc. It'll go 10's without a lot of work.

Biggest unknown is how much weight can be taken out.

I hope we will be able to run low 11s. 10s would be great.

What happened to the CAI and tune that was supposed to be added?

Now that I think of it, considering Ron Leonard ran 10.9's in his 3700lb w/ driver 421rwhp 5.4 3v S197, with the proper suspension, 425-430 or more rwhp, weight reduction, and traction combined, I think the 5.0's will be capable of 10's N/A.

I dont think this 5.0 or any other for that matter will run 10's N/A It will take a power adder or at the very least more displacement IMHO not saying it is impossible but I just dont see it.
