ETA of 5/15 (from 5/8)
Build Date 4/28
In Transit 4/30
In 5 days the railroad has moved it 329 miles. Its not even half way to where it goes on a truck.
They are killing me!
PS Once in transit your dealer can look and see exactly where your car was at the last update by the railroad.
They usually update it whenever it reaches each hub-transfer point.

At least your dealer is willing to look in the system for updates. I can't even get mine to call me back, EVER! When I called them back after not hearing from them they gave excuses such as, "the visibility site (Smart Vincent) is down" or "our purchasing agent is not in her office and nobody else has access". If I have to go in there for information I'm guaranteed to clear their showroom.
I dont want to start another conspiracy but it seems weird that some of
us have early build dates ( mine 4/13) but no current info. My car is in
"area 51" and a delivery date of 4/22 with no further updates. I live 30
miles from the plant so shipping shouldnt take long. I assume everytime a
car is moved it gets scanned and entered in the system. My friend at
Ford has access to the vehicle tracking system so I dont have to trust
the dealer or CRC. Some with cars built later are getting shipment notices
and updated delievery dates....is there a process?

I wouldn't hold your breath until it arrives! Of the ~40 or so 2011's people on this site have ordered, I think just 3 have arrived thus far. It sounds like they are running 2~3 weeks behind ETAs issued just a couple of weeks ago. I ordered mine on 2/3; the latest ETA is 5/26. The car has been built since 4/8.

One of the local dealers has a Kona Blue with stone interior V6 listed (but with Auto) and I'm half tempted to go look at it and try to make a deal if mine doesn't show up in a reasonable amount of time after being "in transit." It has a much earlier VIN though (104xxx vice 116xxx). Maybe that's just how long it takes? The only thing keeping me from doing that is that the auto lacks the Electronics Pkg too and that's a must-have for me.
I think what's going to happen is dealers are going to start filling their lots with these things while the retail orders are sitting at ramp 51 or "in transit" and things like "be patient" and "it'll be there before you know it" won't hold much water any more.
I'm good for now though. My goal was to get it before Memorial Day weekend.

All of the delays are probably a lot more common than any of us imagine. We're just shielded from it when we buy cars off of the lot. Ford usually starts building for the next year after the July shutdown. Maybe the reason they start so early is because it takes so long for vehicles to get from the start of the line to the dealer lots. We're all used to placing an order on Amazon and having a tracking number the same day. Manufacturing doesn't work that way, at least not yet.

Actually I really don't care. As long as mine gets produced and delivered before everyone elses.
No idea what their fee is now. It used to be $299. I'm paying $75 under x-plan. I'm never playing that fee game again if I can avoid it.
Help me understand?
Why would Ford deliver the "for stock" to their dealers, when they could deliver the all ready sold ones and have the money in their pocket?
There must be something I don't understand!

In addition to that, the more 2011's that are on the road the more people will see them/experience them and then head to the dealer. Sounds like a good marketing strategy to me.
