Edelbrock announces new E-Force Supercharger for the 2011 Mustang

Edelbrock has unveiled their new E-Force supercharger system for the 2011 Mustang at SEMA:

No horsepower ratings yet, but I'm sure we'll find out soon.

Figured edelbrock would be coming out with this pretty soon.

My prediction, given edelbrock being conservative as they are, a power rating in the 495-500 HP range for their warrantied system.

Actually it's 466hp and 439lbs of torque. It doesn't say whether or not it's at the wheels or crank. Price is $5800 for complete kit and it says they have a race kit that supports between 700-800 hp.

Those HP numbers are what the 2005-2010 kits are rated at, can't possibly be the same for the 2011 5.0.

Well it's good to know that there is no drilling or plumping required for its oil system. I hate plumping superchargers.

Pretty sure liquid is referring to the Strut Tower Brace...

Doh! Thanks Coupe66US

While obviously the stock strut tower brace wouldn't fit, I'm sure a decent fabrication shop could at least do some sort of a brace, or a tri-point, having it connect back to the firewall, and perhaps one going in front of the blower..

Or say nevermind to all that, and get a cowl hood. Bye bye clearance issues :P

It looks to me like a 05-10 strut tower brace may very well fit because it sits up so much higher and since the edelbrock blower setup is so compact.

I think you're on to something. Here's a picture that does a great job of showing just how much room there is between the 05-10 strut bar, and the manifold. Using the valve covers as a reference, there looks to be ample room between the bar and the top of the Edelbrock unit.

As a reference, the Bullitt/V6 STB will clear the 05-09 E-force.

If you look at the strut tower, you'll see the coolant resevoir mounted to it with a bracket. To me, this rules out running a strut brace as you'd have to bolt it down over that bracket.

The coolant reservoir is mounted in the same location on the 2005-10 Mustangs. As you can see in the picture above your last post, the STB fits just fine.

Touche. I blew right by that picture. Something still doesn't seem right about it though. It seems that you would need to put washers on the other side so that the STB sits evenly on the towers. Even if it did work, I'm not so sure it would be the best idea unless I'm totally missing something.

I apologize if you took my post as sort of a "got ya" response, as that was definitely not my intent. I'm pretty sure that there are washers or some sort of shim to level the STB.

hey MARZ, was it the roush or the whipple that had grooves cut into so the STB could fit?
