Dyno Time - Guess the Numbers

So of course I'm going to copy Burton's idea and make a thread so people can try to guess the dyno numbers. My appointment is this coming Thursday at 10:30am ET.

The dyno is a dynojet.

A little background of my setup. VMP stage 2 TVS. Triple pass dual fan heat exchanger, 46lb injectors, 82mm pulley, JLT intake, VMP twin jet throttle body. 93 octane, VMP tune. Stock engine. Pulley makes about 10lbs of boost.

Hahahaha. What did I start? Btw, I'll be re dynoing . You all know that right? Plus I have some new mods coming in this week along with a new tune. So I hope to demolish the old numbers. Besides I'm never going back to that one dyno place again. What a waste

Good luck man! I'll guess 580/520!!!

Ha. I have a feeling you'll be crushing the old numbers. I can't wait to see what you put down.

Well No numbers today, something is wrong with the tune apparently that could only been seen on the tune or justin just over looked it, or something is going on with the engine can't really tell right now. But i've sent atleast enough data logs for something like that ot be caught.

Engine is running lean. 14.5 AFR So gonna work with justin to get it corrected hopefully.
Sucks that I'm out time and money for thinking the tune was spot on.

That sucks buddy. That's why I'm weary of those email tunes, even from the good tuners. It's so hard to trouble shoot when the car isn't in front of them. That's why I'm going to AED to have them dyno tune me.

sorry to hear that

I hope my experience with JDM will be better. I too don't have access to a dyno tuner close to me. From my conversation with folks who have used JDM tuning and JDM themselves, their tunes should be "spot on". I plan to datalog to help them out.

This^^^ I went through 9 revisions with Lund before we were both happy with everything. I have a buddy that has a dyno at his house and has been tuning LSx cars for 5+ years, I might eventually let him hook up the HPtuners and check it out, but right now I'm very happy. I'll get some numbers eventually, but I'm sure I'm at 580+whp/500+wtq at least.

Mikey... that was the neat thing about JDM. Essentially, I or the dyno shop datalogs, then I send the info back to JDM and they tweak if necessary. And from my understanding, for that specific set of mods they are writing the tune for, they will tweak however many times necessary to "get it right". Ideally of course, if they're tunes are "spot on" or close to it, 1 revision should do it.

Some data information I can't do on my own... has to be on a dyno. So I won't truly know until I datalog at a dyno.

Did VMP request to the OP that he datalog? hmmm
