Has anyone ran into this problem?

Were you able to find out how to fix this?

Battery draining after dash kit install

I had the dash kit from metra 99-5853CH and pioneer stereo installed by a business and ever since it’s drained my battery. The rear defrost button hasn’t worked on the dash since I left the store a week ago. I’ve been doing research and it says the car is looking for sync which is killing my battery. How do I fix this issue. I asked the guy that installed it and he stated it was easy just plug and play. My old factory stereo stopped working but the climate controls all worked. Is there something I should have done before removing unit?
How do I get the car to stop looking for sync

Did the parasitic test already. Traced it to a fuse that is related to ford sync. Problem is ford sync not seeing the radio.

Is there a corresponding fuse that will disable the active anti theft system?

So with the Metra kit, are you suggesting that the document you added, I could show to my installer at my local car AV shop, and then they could pull a fuse that would stop the sync from searching for the radio? Like is that document gonna provide the installer with a solution to the sync problem?

hey so with this exact metro radio install kit, were you ever able to figure out how to make it not drain the battery? Aka how to make it stop searching for sync radio? I have a 2012 mustang GT coupe

Please Let me know!

I do not have this kit but after doing a lot of research online before (almost) buying the kit i saw a couple of solutions.

If you have sync, look under the glovebox for the sync box, after you have located it you want to unplug the power cable which is the big fat chunky one all the way on the right (when you’re looking at it from the front). This cable is secured on by a latch so you CANNOT just pull hard, you will break it. It’s an easy disconnect, just press down the little button and the latch will slide over and you will be able to disconnect it.

If that does not work, you will have to pull the sync fuse which i believe is located in the passenger side kick panel. This is the only other solution i’ve seen has worked for some. If that does not work for you i’m not sure what else would be causing the battery drain.
