Like all Mustang enthusiasts, I can't wait until tomorrow (late night that is). I've been visiting the Camaro forums and they're starting to sweat...wondering what GM is going to do to counter this new Mustang threat.

WTF are these sentences all about?
I found this disturbing when I read it. Are they trying to interject politics and suggest the the 'tax payers' would root for the Maro. But the Mexican media had no such allegiance.
So its patriotic now to root for teh Camaro.
If buying a Mustang makes me un-American, then maybe I should get a 2011.
It was clear from the moment we arrived that the 2010 Camaro SS was right in the crosshairs of Ford’s non-Federal-bailed-out gunsights. And while many of us U.S. taxpayers were secretly rooting for the government-subsidized Camaro, the well-represented Mexican press contingent had no such predilection.
So its patriotic now to root for teh Camaro.
If buying a Mustang makes me un-American, then maybe I should get a 2011.

I'm glad its faster. I'm very happy about it. But the author is an idiot for trying to say 'too' much about what he thinks is happening.

He is no doubt an idiot. He acts like we wanted GM to have our money

Rooting for the camaro, because it comes from a failed and bailed out company, is the kind of thinking that caused the failure in the first place. What an idiot. And what a pleasure to see a maro get stomped. Good to see the speed so far up on the failaro in the 1/8 (which is not really a drag race in my book) should be even greater on the big end with the Stangs gearing.

Unprepped surface on a temporary track that may or may not be an accurate 1/8th mile. The only thing that you may be able to get from this is comparing the two under like circumstances.
Plenty of time for the real thing later.
Not much longer now !!!!

I took no offense at this statement; I just view it as a writer trying to juice up the story with some flavor.
Surely some people will want the Camaro to win, others will want the Mustang to win. As a tax payer, I don't want to see Camaro fail (maybe that is all he was going for) and I am glad they have fans. Also, I think his article was leaning towards the fact that the Mexican govt. had no pony in the race either way, so they should be the unbiased opinion. With all that said, I'm very excited to see how the Mustang comes out (my money is on top)!
Camaro or Mustang, American either way!
The part I did find funny was at the end of the article when they mentioned they dyno test with a bit of a slam, stating that "One pair of journalists—rather than go on the “approved” press tour, snuck a 6-speed manual 5-liter off to the Dynojet chassis dyno..."
