Down grade from 19" to 18" wheels ?
My 12 GT has the Prem 19" wheels and I woke to replace the rims with some SVT rims but all I could find are 18"plus there a bit cheaper. Anyways why should I down size my rims, would you ? Also would there be a better selection of tires at a better price ?

I downsized to 18's recently. Benefits include: much cheaper tires, taller sidewaill for better straightline acceleration grip, and tire selection. I could not find Nitto 555's in 19". So far, I'm enjoying the change, and I'm sure it will really feel good when I plunk down a couple hundred dollars less for the replacements. I did notice a slight change in my speedometer calibration, even thought the cruizinconcepts website stated they are a factory diameter match. Not really sure why that happened, but it is minor.

I "downgraded" from 19" to 18" in my Brembo car. Got the American Muscle GT4 wheels and NT555 package - http://www.americanmuscle.com/blackg...0509-stan.html
I am very happy with them so far. I got them because I am more interested in performance than appearance, and 18" tires are waaaaaaay cheaper. I prefer the somewhat taller sidewall - helps the suspension out a bit. The ride is not as harsh.

Ok so today I placed the order for the GT500 wheel pkg and was able to get a forum discount of 5% wich made the total $1657.73 and that included the TPMS sensors. Here is the link again if any one else is interested so now my stock wheels and tires are up for sale.

I went to 5 major tires dealers in my area and NO ONE stocks 245/45/19" tires witch really sucks. If you were to blow out a tire you would be riding on your spare until you could order and have one shipped in. Oh yah 18' and 20's were not a problem in stock at all 5 places I went to.

Nothing wrong with the 19" wheels. The appearance is striking, and you can easily order the replacement Pirelli tires from Tire Rack. I wanted the 19s because I like the shorter sidewall look of the tire and the style of the luster nickel wheels in the larger size.

I'll have to check what my local tire factory stocks in these 19's and then do some research to determine if I need to get some 18" wheels or not. I don't track the car so I'm hoping stock tires will work well in the winter (cold, some snow, mostly rain)...
