I apologize about the post. I was upset about the caps not being there after a bad day.

 

 

I can't believe someone bought after market valve stem caps.

 

I have had no less than 20 valve stems stolen by bastards over the last 15 years. Little bastards would even ride with them on there bikes.......until one day they met mr. Paintball gun. Not the smartest thing I've done in my adul.t life but it got my point across. Lol

I actually had my cobra fender emblems ripped off my '93. . it took off the paint. BOY did i want to kill someone...

 

Definitely tongue and cheek there!!!! LOCTITE would be a bad idea, even tightning the ever loving crap out of a valvestem cap can be bad news.

I've had them so tight I couldn't even get the cap off with a pair of pliers and had to yank the stem in order to deflate the tire.

Anyways, if they are of the hex style cap, you can tighten them a bit tighter than normal and it will mostly prevent somebody from stealing them since the cap cannot be removed without a small wrench or a tool expressely made for the purpose.

The trick is to tighten the caps incrementally until you can no longer twist them off by hand and leave them be.

I understand customer service, and I also understand exceeding the expectation.

However this actually comes across as rewarding bad behavior.

You don't go "warning" others not to buy from a vendor over something so petty first of all. Bad day or not, what the hell did you think happened to the caps that was AM's fault.

Seriously though, did you think the rain melted them? Did you think rain water somehow got under the caps and loosened them off?

I cam't believe someone would make a thread like this in this scenario! Someone steals some caps, and you post not to buy from AM!

You should show a bit more class and maybe offer up a little more than, "I was in a bad mood about my caps being gone".

How old are you? I only ask because I think someone old enough to own a new 5.0, let alone any car, should know enough to know if the stem caps were defective or stolen! Maybe you never had a bike as a kid... I don't know.

I think you should not accept a new set from AM, regardless of their incredibly generous offer to replace your stolen caps after you attempted to damage their reputation and hurt their business.

Don't edit your post... Accept it, learn from it, move on.

Most people offer "caveat emptor" or buyer beware like you were doing with this thread.

In your case... Caveat Venditor, or seller's beware is what I suggest to everyone else!

I still can't believe someone bought valve stem caps. I guess I'm the only one who would rather have someone looking at my wheels instead of the cheesy caps I have on my valves stems. :duh:

 

The black plastic ones do just as good. Just saying.
