Does your Manual Transmission Buzz?

On my manual tranny 2014 GT Track Pack car, when I downshift and I have the clutch pushed in the car buzzes loudly and vibrates the stick shift until I let out the clutch. My 2012 GT did not do this and I told the dealer about it. The area Ford Service Rep came out to the dealer an listened to it and said it's normal for an '13-'14 tack pack car. I'm not so sure.

I recorded a couple pulls on my car - putting the car into 2nd gear, running it up to around 45mph, then pushing in the clutch. You can hear the buzzing sound - I let the clutch out just a little and the buzzing stops - but starts immediately when I push the clutch peddle back down.

Anyone else have this 'normal' sound/vibration?

No that's absolutely not normal. Might be the driveshaft? Stock shifter?

2014 GT with Track Pack here. Didn't do that stock. And doesn't do that with my MGW. Your rep is full of sh*t.

Car's had 2 drive lines and I upgraded to an MGW shifter - still the same noise.

Did they give you guff for the MGW? If so, put the stock shifter back in and take to a different dealer. I can't believe they think that's okay.

wooooooow.... Just another example of the dealer passing the buck until after warranty. There is NO difference in parts on the shifter, linkage, clutch, and transmission between the base GT and the Track Pack. Why is it normal for a "track pack car"???

Anyway, sounds like maybe a pilot bearing? The noise only happens when the clutch is depressed right? (depressed = pedal down to the floor)

Hey wait, they never gave me any guff about the shifter. Dealer has been pretty good on investigating issues on my car. I was just surprised when the Ford rep told the dealer that noise was normal. I didn't think it was normal, so I'll take it back and insist they investigate further.

Few weeks ago I dropped the car off, they called back to asked if it was OK to remove and crack open the tranny. They then found a ton of metal shavings inside - so they agreed there was a problem. They had a whole laundry list of parts to order to fix it. Called today to find out how long until it was done - turns out they got an entire new transmission from Ford and installed it today. So tomorrow I'll pick it up.
