Does the new 5.0 sound different than the 4.6?

In all of the excitement about the new engine, there is one concern which has been at the back of my mind. I absolutely love the exhaust sound of the outgoing mod motors. Their exhaust note is so unique that I can tell a Ford V8 (Mustang or truck) just by its sound. Ford changed the firing order for the new motor, and I bet that between that and the new tri-Y headers the cars are not going to sound the same.
None of the videos that have come out represent the sound well. If there is anyone here who has heard the 2011's in person respond with their impression of the new exhaust note?

Sound
this link could help, I am having troubles seeing it at work......so hopefully it's good....I was thinking the same thing, the 4.6 sounds good, but the Camaro 2SS sounds louder...so hopefully the 2011 GT will be around the same type of "note"..

As far as I can tell from the videos available, it will be a bit deeper and possibly slightly louder than the 4.6.
I find the SS is pretty quiet while cruising and absolutly mute while idling, but has a nice sound to it when pushed. At least they got rid of the terrible exhaust of the previous gen with the single muffler.
I'm pretty sure once you hear the 5.0, you forget all about the 4.6!

The new video of the GT500 convertible has a segment when the car is started at 1:00 and the exhaust note is very clear (the louder mufflers do help al lot though).
GT500 Video
Ford Engineers seem to be very adept at "sound engineering." I remember lots of discussion about the lengths they went to get the 2001 Bullitt to sound like the movie car. That makes me think that regardless of changes to the firing order/headers, the Ford Engineers will find a way to make the car sound uniquely Mustang. I wouldn't take early dyno vids or test videos of a final representation of how the car will sound.

I agree, jedikd. It may or may not sound like the current V8, but based on the work they've done in the past I'm sure they have worked hard to make it sound beautiful.

Idk guys. The black GT in the Ford video sounded ok, but the GT350 with the FRPP Stingers is what had me concerned. It was a good indication of what the car will sound like with aftermarket exhaust, and it sounded raspy, almost V6 like. It didn't have that characteristic deep bellow, even with a crappy Youtube video, you can hear the distinctive Mustang sound. That GT350 sounded like ***. We'll see I guess.

It could be that the new motor sounds better with a chambered muffler than a straight thru design. Also the new 5.0 has resonators mounted before the axle. Those could be there for a reason other than volume. Like to control rasp or drone. The Shelby GT350 could have removed those.
