Dodge 1500 Ram truck slammed into my V6

On my way back from lunch today I'm sitting at a red light when all of a sudden a Dodge 1500 truck slams into the rear of my 2012 V6 which then pushed me into the car sitting in front of me. Most of the damage is all in the rear. Im gonna need a new trunk, rear fascia, bumper and from what I can see one muffler.

Luckily no one was really hurt. Im going to be laid up with a sore neck and back pain for a few days. but other than that it could have been worse.

I went to the hospital just to make sure I was ok. I find out later that the guy who caused the accident is uninsured with a suspended license. I think the cops arrested him.

I'm hoping to get her back on the road in time for the American muscle car show. But you never can tell how long these things can take to clear up.

The truck didn't slam into you the idiot driving it did. That is like saying a gun killed someone, the gun didn't do it the shooter did.

Hope you are going to press charges against the idiot pickup driver and sue the hell out of him and then get the lawyer to hound him to his grave.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I am glad you are OK. I really do feel badly for you. Hang in there, and best wishes for everything to be back to normal soon (you especially)!

Glad to hear you're ok - but follow up with your docs. Neck & back injuries from unexpected hits from behind sometimes show up slowly. Your car will be fixed though it will take some time and some hassle. Hope the deadbeat that doesn't take care of his insurance responsibility rots in jail.

Glad to hear youre ok! But keeptabs with your docs about your whiplash. That stuff can get nasty as the next few days pass by. Sue the hell out of the guy! Btw any pics of the accident?

Did you have Underinsured/uninsured coverage on your policy? I used that once when the people whose son almost got my son killed had minimum coverage...

This is why most states have a "no fault" policy now. Idiots that have no insurance (in this case no drivers license either). I would agree to making sure your neck and back are healed. Continue followups on that.

Good that you have insurance. They may go after this guy and attempt to collect from him, but most insurance companies just consider it a wash. They repair your car, and most likely the one in front of you (that owners insurance will collect from yours, as your car hit theirs; fair huh?). And the so called winner of all this is the truck, as he will most likely get away with it, albeit a ticket from the police. I bet he'll be driving again within a few months, and without insurance or a license.

A local news went to court to followup on repeat offenders who were driving on suspended licenses. They paid their fines, left the court, still with a suspended license, and drove out of the court parking lot! The news got this on camera and put it on the 6 o'clock news.

Wow, sorry to hear... Def take care of yourself 1st and foremost. It does suck about the Mustang but it can be fixed. You may opt to change out the read and or front fascia's during the repairs. Maybe a Roush front? Feel better.

Glad you are relatively ok. Get yourself fixed up then worry about the car!! I'll be at the AM show so I look forward to seeing you their with a fixed up stang!

And as far as a Ram 1500 rear ending him. It was a Ram 1500 that hit him. Yes, Jerky was driving it but it still was a RAM 1500 that plowed into him versus a 1995 Sentra. Lol

Glad to hear you're all right. That really blows, about the truck driver. I hope you can get "something" out of it but it's doubtful. Like said before, he'll be back on the road doing his thing in no time..

Sorry to hear about this, I'm not far from you in Kenilworth. Do you mind me asking where you were when this happened?

Actually, he is correct.
The truck slammed into his car.
I doubt a human being could slam into a vehicle and cause that type of damage. A better analogy for this might be "the bullet struck the person; causing injuries that resulted in death".
Not that it matters or is relevant to his post.
Why so serious?

Finally got her back from the body shop

My girl is finally home. I treated her to a new GT500 wing and a pair of Ford OEM louvers. She needs a good wash and detailing but I figured I would wait about 2 weeks to let the new paint properly cure.

I am almost hit by an idiot rush over red light today driving a Jeep Compass. Fortunately, I was double checking the signal rather than driving forward.

It's called a lawsuit/small claims. Never understood why anyone bought this policy option.
