Disabling speedo color change?

Hey guys, is there any way to disable the sensor that detects when to change the dash gauges to night mode? I would like to just have the night mode permanently on my gauges than having the plain white gauges during the day.

Thanks much guys!

Try and see if it's the same sensor as the automatic headlights. If it is, paint the sensor flat black

Where would the sensor be? I was thinking about that, just taping over the sensor and call it a day.

Gracias guys!

Sensor is in the middle of the dash.
Not sure, but since it only changes while the lights are on they would probably be on all the time also.

I think this would work. Middle of your dashboard like above stated.
Your headlights would also be on all the time (if you use the Auto headlight setting). I wouldn't paint it since that'd be semi-permanent, might want to try with black electrical tape first to see if you really like it.

I will definitely slap some electrical tape over that sensor tomorrow evening when I get my car back from paint! I don't have automatic lights on my Mustang, but that wouldn't be a problem anyway, seeing as I drive with the headlight and CS fog lights on constantly day/night.

I've thought about just this! Although I didn't go through with it cause it dims lights on radio. Hard for me to see them. I always wear a cap! I just stuck it over sensor. Loved the clusters not white, hated the lighter stuff!

No problem asking even if you have the manual. But if you have your computer with you and want to check the manual, its on-line at the Ford Owners site or here: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WOBMUS/~MUS~LEN/42/11musog3e.pdf.
