Did the dealership change my computer code?

I read from all the forums that to get an SCT tuner, you need the 4 digit computer code. So I checked today under my hood to find my code and found this:

Looks like the last digit has been written over with green pen?
Hard to tell from the picture (not sure why I couldn't focus properly), but they either wrote a green 6 over the last digit, or just scribbled it out using a green pen?

Is there another way for me to find out what the computer code is for sure?

(PS. There's also another green pen mark on the right hand side, looks like a "G").

Once you get the tuner it will read the code.

Or if you know someone with a SCT tuner they can read the code.

HYZ6 is a popular code on the early cars. Many of them seem to have been originally HYZ5, mine included.

My code was also factory updated to HYZ6 with the green sharpie but by someone with a little more legible printing skills! Might have had something to do with it being on hold for three months...

I did a search on one of the forums for HYZ6 a while back and found others with the same story that have tuned the cars for this code.

Shawn, like said above, get someone ( or your own) with an SCT tuner to read the serial number of the ECU. Piece of cake, then you'll know for sure.

Ah I see now thanks. I thought I had to know the computer code BEFORE I ordered the tuner. Didn't realize I could order the tuner first and then use it to read the computer code for the tunes.

Odd, didn't know it was a common thing; I thought it was just something my dealership did for some reason. Weird that it's happened to several early cars.

Exactly... how much does it cost to print out a sticker?
