I thought about that and my kona 12 I used to use a quick detailer to clean it. However after it is really dirty I think they the detailer doesn't help much. You just spread the dirt around as you are cleaning and swirl the paint.
The best thin to do is wash it, clay it, glaze it, put on a few coats of synthetic wax and then carnuba or the deep gloss.
I found that the Cali duster is oily and leaves a residue even after letting it sit on a newspaper like they recommend. after a while the dust becomes impregnated into the cotton fibers. The best solution I found was a 24" wool duster. Works great and you can wash it when it's dirty.

If your car is dirty, wash it. If it's just got a light coat of dust on it or a few water spots, use the spray detailer.
As for the rest, yes, that's a scheduled part of maintaining the paint, Usually done once every 4-6 months depending on the product and exposure to the elements. I do hope you aren't claying, applying gloss, sealing and waxing your car every week.
As for the Cali Duster, great product, but it doesn't replace the anti-static spray detailer. The spray detailer will reduce the dust buildup in the first place.
Yes to all the comments on the California Car Duster. Keeps my Sterling Grey spotless. Don't scrub with the duster, just pass it over the finish lightly on the sides, under it's own weight on the top. Never have washed the duster, just shake it good out before and after use. Car is waxed with Meguiars Ultimate liquid wax, and touched up when needed with the Ultimate detailer.

California Duster
I have a California Duster and it worked great at first, but now I find it leaves greasy streaks on the paintwork. It still lifts the dust fine, but I now need to buff with a microfibre cloth afterwards. Any idea why? I'd been advised to wrap it in newspaper to let the oils "drain", but it's made no difference. With a black Stang, I need to use it LOTS
