Which dead pedal?
Which dead pedal to buy?
1. CDC - $60, looks the most OEM, but $60 for something that should've come stock.

2. Drake's - $35, doesn't look too bad, but doesn't look OEM.

3. Steeda - $45, looks very racy, but I'd probably want to do the other pedals to match.

I'm tired of stepping on carpet when I rest my foot. I daily drive my car and my factory Ford "all weather mats" are trashed already, 2600 miles. They don't cover enough of the floor anyways. I was always planning on WeatherTechs, but I thought my driver's one would last a little longer.
Should I just pony up the $60 for CDC or save a little and go with Steeda, and get their pedal set too?

I have these on my 07 and love them
I have the dead pedal, accelerator, brake, and clutch in the satin finish with the little black rubber inserts
As you can see there's other options

If your set on the cdc, just buy the whole set from AM for 47 bucks. The pedals are identical. Sell the other pedals here in the forums and recoup cash.

I never had an issue with a lack of a dead pedal. Is the purpose just to put something metal there to step on rather than carpet? Will it require me to cut the mat or carpet? if so, I'm out.
But given all that, I actually like the #2 option, Patrick. Drake makes some great stuff. I have their billet aluminum **** and alternately use it with my other shift *****. I love theirs too.

I don't have the dead petal but the Weather-tech laser fit or whatever they're called are fantastic and look great in the car. The sides are nice and high. No dirt gets anywhere other than on that mat... But I don't rest my foot there. Never really time with all the **** traffic.

The lack of a dead pedal really drives me crazy as well. The CDC looks closest to OEM, but still doesn't quite look OEM. I wonder if an OEM accelerator pedal could be fastened to the Shelby or Steeda bracket for a cleaner look?

The pic above that charlie posted doesn't look tacky at all. I think it looks great! I never had an issue with a lack of a dead pedal.
