Damaged my rear tire. Question

**** it. I hit a curb I didn't see tonight and it damaged my wheel a bit and took a piece of my tire. Can I drive it like this without any impact? I mean, it's missing a pretty nice chunk, maybe half and inch of that sidewall. I didn't notice any difference in driving. Its a pretty new tire so it would suck if I had to get a new one.

Personally I would replace both bits and drive on. If it holds air its a personal call. Peace of mind says replace it soon.

Looks fine to me. Just have the wheel repaired when you get a new tire or whenever you want.

I've caused my fair share of curb rash, but that looks a little iffy to me so I'd replace it. And get road hazard coverage for all your tires if you don't already. So worth it when you don't have to shell out for a whole new tire/set.

My suggestion is go on yellowpages.com and look for rim repair guys, or ask nearest ford who they deal with in fixing rims of traded vehicles

+1 tire is absolutely fine. That chunk is missing out of the rim protector rubber sidewall. Nothing detrimental there

The tire does look fine, BUT I would pull the tire off the wheel and check the inside for damage.

When I sold and installed tires we would see stuff like this all the time, but when you pulled the tire off, we would sometimes find the the rubber pinched and split internally.

The wheel looks like an easy repair, which won't cost more than $150.00.

Please get the tire checked by a professional. I had a vibration in my 2009 VW, which my wife could feel on her side of the car, from the day I bought it. I attributed it to to crappy roads, as I did not feel anything...wrong! I did have the alignment checked, no problem. And, then I was installing the winter tires, when I rolled the tire from the car across the garage, I noticed a bulge on the sidewall, and a damaged rim. This was on the inside of the wheel. I drive at 75 on the Interstate and had just driven a 1300 mile + trip the week before. It was just a matter of time until the tire failed and failed in a big way. Piece of mind is worth having that tire checked to ensure no belts have been damaged.
