I agree with everything you just stated, there are many reasons NOT to over tighten the spark plug. My comment was just I had never seen over tightening of a spark plug cause that damage, especially on all the plugs!
But the most important thing is that he got it fixed and all is well with his car!

In the meantime, if you missed the 5.0 service manual specs I posted earlier in this thread, here it is again.. They require 124 lbs inch torque which converts to 10ft lbs torque..

Therefore unless there's a known problem, they won't offer any other info concerning specification requirements.. You either have to purchase or know someone who has a Ford service/repair manual..

Kyle ! What I submitted was a section taken from the Ford service manual.. Unless I'm misinterpreting, I think your referring to the Ford owners manual which doesn't list technical specifications.. If you take a look again at the section posted from the Ford service manual.. It lists the torque specs at 124 inch lbs torque which then converts to 10ft lbs torque..

My guess is that once Ford redesigned the heads and spark plugs in late 2008, they considered the spark plug issues as resolved and therefore anti-seize was no longer considered a recommendation requirement

Glad you got it taken care of op. One handy tool to have really cheap is an ehome endoscope and I bought mine from Amazon for 12 bucks. Heres a pic and its small enough to fit into a spark plug hole.

Magnetic porcelain?
You're absolutely 110% spot on regarding that comment Burton lol. I got so caught up in the moment trying to help out our fellow Mustanger that I wasn't thinking accurately before posting the magnet tool recommendation..
In the meantime, I thank you for correcting my mistake and realizing that using a magnet tool is totally useless for picking up porcelain debris..
Hopefully he'll be able to get those pieces out by attaching a vacuum line hose to a vacuum tube nozzle
