Current 2010 Mustang incentives
Currently in Texas they are offering up to $3000 cash or 0% for 60, so the cash incentives got bumped up a little.

Mass is the same as CT -- $2,500 cash or 0%/60
This is actually not as good as it was in March -- used to be $3,000 cash or $1000 cash and 0%/60
I was very surprised to see them reduce the incentives, I was hoping they would increase . . . looks like the prices on the 2010's right now might be about as good as they are going to get . . . still not quite as great a deal as I was hoping for, but close.

It's especially strange considering the 2011's are going to be offered at 0% for 36.
Where is the incentive to buy a 2010 over a 2011?
Does anyone have any inventory numbers for 2010s that are still on the lots? I know there are A LOT by me, and these cars have been sitting there for a while too.

i dont know of any numbers but i think they will sell the 10 gts just fine. may take em a few more months...now the 10 v6s. i think they are going to be hard pressed to get rid of them.
either way i have my eye one a gt vert that is snickered at 38500 im hoping to get between 30 and 31. it is optioned just about like i want it. The dealer said there is no way he can get close to that low. lets see if they change their mind this summer when the 11s are avialiable.

Just looked and found 124 on lots in San Antonio... and 60 more if you go 20 miles in any direction out of San Antonio. Good mix of auto/man and V6/GT. Looks like the same thing I saw when I bought last month. Nothing new anyway. I was looking specifically for V6 premium w/Pony and comfort package and nothing else... and I think I got the last one of those in Texas.

that's about the same as my math and the same response I get from the dealers around here . . . I'm looking for about $7-8K off sticker and they say no way . . . can't blame them, they are not in business to lose money . . . but time will tell as you say, I will wait and see if they cars are still there in another month or two, and maybe then the price will come down enough

I got my 2010 for 6K off of sticker. Local dealers would not come close, I had to go out of state. Local dealer still wants more for a used 2008 than I paid for my new 2010. I agree with Trick25, selling GTs will be easy, the V6 cars, well that's another issue entirely.

The price difference between 2010 and 2011 GT's are negligible. There are some different financing options right now for both...but what would make anyone want to buy a 2010 over a 2011 right now?
I saw an article on Yahoo Autos that the 2010 Mustang Inventory has been aging on the lots longer than nearly every vehicle. I wish I could find that article.
With Ford reducing incentives (they had rebate and financing offers here in CT, now it's rebate or good financing)...I think it's going to make them even harder to move.

Price difference negligable?
I worked a deal to pay $300 over invoice w/ holdback for the 2011 about 2 months ago. Then I compared that price to what I got my '10 for (approx $7500 below MSRP, NOT incl shipment). The end resulted in a $5000 savings overall less then a 2011. Figured I'd put down a $chunk$, get the payments below $350, and wait ever so PATIENTLY for 2014 50th anniversary. That way all the bugs (if any) are worked out of the new drivetrain and get fresh lookin 2014 exterior as well.
Since I have extra cash now and there such the after market base already in place (4.6L), I'm havin fun moddin, makin it my own if you will. I'd be cash poor if I went with the 2011, I probably wouldn't even be able to afford tint (lol). Something to think about if you can score a great deal on last years model.
Price difference negligable?, you might have went to just the wrong dealership, shop around. I got exactly what I wanted at a great price. Use the tool on the Ford website and find the exact car you want and make that dealer an offer online. That being said, I had to drive an 1 1/2 hours to make my purchase, but the savings was worth it.

But, and correct me if I am reading the post wrong, wouldn't it be better in most cases to go with a dealer that was offering $7K or more off of MSRP (assuming you could find one). I am thinking X-plan will save you about $2K or so, plus the extra $2K, for what, max savings of $4 - $5K vs. the dealer discount of aoround $7K.
You can't combine those can you? Don't see how you could.
Thanks...
