As i said previously, the stripes look incomplete without the Boss in it and im not going to compromise the overall look of my car for any reason...

just to be clear here (since this is my thread) I'd never badge it as a boss at all. just the stripe style.. But for now I decided on LeMans stripes anyway.

And usually this kind of stuff bugs me, but I love this. I just hate seeing Cobra badges on V6s and GTs. Or GT badges on V6s. Idk why this doesn't bother me...

I did not copy at all. I have not seen another race red Mustang with black C stripes, a red trunk spoiler and roof, and the "Boss 302" missing from the side C stripe. Im my area, this is an original.

One last thought. I'll put purple stripes on it and call it a grape if folks chip in and make the payments; until then, it's mine, and I'll do with it as I please.

Car is going to look awesome, grabber blue is a great color to accentuate. I'm assuming you are going to use black, but the red "superman" style stripes look pretty good on that color too. Can wait to see the PICS

If you wanted a grape to begin with, then you shoulda bought one. Badging your car as a grape is going to dilute the value of real grapes everywhere.

white stripes actually. :-) I figure the black rear panel, boss 302 diffuser, and whatever blacked out grille I go with will be enough darkness.

I never said I have issues with the c stripe. I do not like people putting boss on the car or shelby and so on.

Well if they did the right hardware mods to be a special edition wouldnt they have the right to put the corresponding badges? Just call it a clone, or tribute. To me, they can put the badges and labels as long as they dont call it a legit shelby or boss. As long as they say its a replica or similar term then thats fine

still be calling it something its not. I am sure we could kill some dogs at the sheter and make you some yummy burgers.. would you be happy if I called them beef instead of dog? like Ive said.. its not a boss because of the parts. its a boss because of how it was born in the factory.

Thats a pretty extreme and brutal example man. Ok what if someone had a bare chassis and made a boss with factory parts? From scratch? Or what if someone just installed all factory parts for a certain model? Would that not be correct or legitamate?

Theyre called and labeled as tributes and clones for a reason. As long as theyre called that then i see no problem.

working in the auto industry for 90% of my life I've seen a lot. Personalizing your car is a part of the driving experience. The only time it become offensive is if you step over the borderline of Real and Reproduction.

Getting the right car for yourself is a personal decision, but its always met with resistance from those whose decided to invest in an exclusive product or in this case; car line.

I've worked for and driven other cars (American and European) and you get kind of used to car owners that like the looks of one vehicle, but wind up with a different car. Its ok to an extent -- re-badging is frowned on in the past and will continue in the future -- that just car guys and gals speaking from the heart.

But no one would say a word (not that it would bother you) if you made it unique and attractive laying on a nice set of lwring sprngs - wheels and tires that are sweet and something extra under the hood -- stripe package and so on.

Please forgive the following analogy (OK?) not trying to be sexist

Its like girls going out to a party and your friend shows up the same Coach bag as you -- and you know hers is a "knock-off".... not cute
