Coyote article in March 5.0 Mustang mag
Outstanding article on the development of the Coyote in the March issue of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords.
Powdered metal rods that "will not survive forced induction" but the block is designed with future upgrades and longevity in mind. They expect this motor platform to be around for "10 to 15" years.
11 to 1 compression, capabilty for DI in the future.
Interview with the design team, block design etc etc.
The first prototype went to "map" or it's core combustion parameters "set in stone" It ran for an 800 hour performance run and passed all the durabilty tests the first time out. Looks like they did this one right!!!
Excellent read!
