I should have added, I changed the oil/filter at 3000 miles. Went to Mobil 1 and the Motorcraft filter. It is just something I have always done with a new car. Back in the 60's and 70's, it was at 1000 miles and we changed all the lubricants. I have never lost an engine or transmission.

The oil change on the 5.0 has not resulted in any noise developing in the 3300 miles I have driven since the change.

In fact I am finding excuses to get out of the house and drive it!
