considering a wheel change. opinions?

I remember getting these ford racing wheels for a remarkable deal before i even received my car this spring. After a handful of shows and daily use, I am really contemplating a change to the 2010 gt500 wheel style. My current wheels are a PAIN in the A** to clean. I mean HORRIBLE. Also I think chrome wheels will really be an eye catcher on the blue and white car when shined up, sitting in the lineup. The first pic is my current wheels, followed by the ones i'd like, and then a pic of the American Muscle wheel, all chrome. 19x8.5 and 19x10 staggered set. I'd always try to get genuine FR wheels but have not seen them in chrome, only machined. what y'all think?

I'm not a fan of those wheels, and I think they might look a bit much in chrome. My biggest peeve with the ones you currently have is that spoked wheels should have an odd number of spokes. When they're even, they start looking too symmetrical and lose some of their sportiness IMO.

What are you using to clean your wheels? Those don't look like they'd be thaaaat bad. I would think the right combo of brushes would make it a lot better. I use one for lug nuts, one for the face of the wheel, one for crevices, one for inside the wheel rim, and a bendable one to get behind the spokes.

Buy whatever YOU like..........you'll get all sorts of different opinions as we all like different things.

Personally, I really like your current wheels but, yeah, I can see how they'd be a pain to clean.

The GT500-style do look good (and easy to clean)........but I'd stick with gunmetal rather than chrome. But that's just me

Agree 100%. In fact I really like your current wheels, as I'm looking to replace mine (see my thread in this same area too)

What brand and size rims/tires do you have?

If you decide to sell hit me up as I am looking for a set of wheels. I am used to detailing those kinds of rims.

my current wheels are ford racing forged aluminum. 19x9 and 19x10 with 255 and 285 nitto invos. I do like em but have seen so many other wheels that I prefer, but can't find lol! i love the alcoa's but at 1000 bux each ...nada. can't find any used either. it's one of those things where you REALLY won;t know if you like the change until you have done it.

those do indeed look amazingly similar to alcos and not a bad price. Never heard of that company. Not sure about 'reserving' a set and hoping they'll show up. I'll keep an eye on them and see if they do in fact become available in december, unless someone else sells them already.

thanks twin turbo.

What are the stock brembo wheel sizes? Same as your ford racing ones? 19x9 front and 19x10 rear???

I really like those. Where'd you buy them and how much?

Bangastang create the Hell Snake.........amazing paint job on this (photos don't do it justice)

Strangely, the first I heard of them was when they signed up to one of our UK Mustang forums..........they are US-based though

exactly the wheels im after. my ultimate car is the blue and white supersnake, wheels and all. i think those mamba wheels in chrome would be a good substitute for sure...
Those wheels with a deep impact blue and white seal it for me

Total opposite for me. I think those are the nicest wheels they've put on the GT500's in recent years.

Well let me restate that.. I like them..... on a GT500. On my car? well I already have LeMans stripes, I don't want people to actually confuse it for a GT500.

I just think there are other/better choices.

Me too, unless you replace the SVT center caps with a proper tribar cap (like I did with mine). Plus, I changed the finish to make them different....
