Color

I'm currently in the market for a 2013 Mustang Gt premium manual with the Gt track package and deck wing; nothing else. And as the title gives away i can't decide between performance white or race red. The dealer i have spoken with has a Performance white one with the exact setup i want, (on a different lot ofcourse) just can't pull the trigger. The dealer makes it sound like the track package is hard to come by so i'm tempted to just jump on the white one now. Just don't want to regret it. Why is this so hard!!

Any pictures or direction would be great. Thanks in advance.

Do you want us to choose for you?
White is around every year, race red does not come around. There is always some sort of red, but not this certain "tone" of it.

I like white over red. It's better than waiting 8+ weeks too and paying extra for the color. just buy it.

I don't see very many Mustangs sitting on dealer lots with the track package. Most are automatics without any of the performance minded upgrades, so the dealer is right that they are somewhat hard to come by. But you can always just put an order in for whatever you want as long as your local dealers have some allocation left, so there's nothing stopping you (expect maybe a slightly higher price) from getting exactly what you want.

My personal color preference is either Sterling Grey or Deep Impact Blue. My preference right now is for SG with an over the top racing stripe, but I believe I would be wiling to accept a DIB car without a stripe if I have to.

Kona or DIB are my favorites just because I like blue...I've really grown to like my white though. They look so aggressive with black accents.

I am personally not a fan of white or red. However, I think the new front end and rear make both colors look good on the 2013. just the difference in the lines made all the difference. Of those two choices...... RaceRed.

I wanted back into a Mustang so badly in January of 2011 that I bought a RedCandy 2010 GT Premium. I had never owned a red mustang because its not my color...in any shade. My advice is don't settle on a color your not into because you will regret it every time you see it. I regretted it and got rid of the car 4 months later.

I'm NOT a fan of white cars...at all. With that being said, the Mustang looks amazing in white with dark rims and black accents. But at the same time I love the Race Red as well. Flip a coin haha

I have a 2012 white gtcs. Wasn't looking for a white car when I bought it. Just couldn't pass up the deal. The thing that irritates me about the white is that the front and rear bumpers have a yellow tint compared to the body panels. I have heard that others have complained about this too. So check them out and see if the one you are looking at has the same issue.

Thanks for all the great replys, i now have another question. In the event that i choose to just order one the way i want it, how/when is the final price decided. Is all haggling done before its ordered or when it gets there and if its the latter, does ordering it "your" way make it hard to get a break on the price?

I haven't done any price negotiations yet, but my dealer is aware that I am using x-plan so maybe that's why.

If you plan on driving it in snow or with snow around I wouldn't suggest white. IMHO

Red

My 2 cents would be to get the red. I agree that white looks good with tasteful black "accents" and it will be easier to keep clean looking, but the red just pops a little more for me.

And I was able to negotiate a fair deal when I ordered my car.

Good luck!

You negotiate the price when you order the car. The problem now is that the factory is being shut down for a few weeks at the end of the year to retool for the new fusion. You are looking at a 8 week delivery at best so you're running out of time for a special order. The 2014s will begin production in January if the info on this website is accurate.
I'm not a big fan of white. I ordered DIB, but my second choice would be candy red metallic followed by race red. I just worry that red attracts a lot of attention from cops. I test drove the race red last month. It was a 2012.

And I saw a candy red recently. It looked much nicer in person.

That I can agree with. At my college I've noticed 3 2011-2013 Mustangs, and all of them are painted black. It looks nice on the cars, but I prefer something different myself.

I came to like sterling grey after seeing a 2013 V6 Pony Package test drive along side of me. That car just looked so good I started seriously looking into Mustangs, and here I am.
