+1. Save your money. My '14 GT runs 11.70's in the 1/4 mile with the factory airbox & factory paper filter. The magic is all in the tune. CAI's are just eye candy.

He already bought it.

CAIs are nice because of the sound and the look.
When you already have 420hp... I don't think you're in a dire need for extra horsepower.
Later, grab a tune if you want the most (another 30-40hp) out of your intake.
For now though, enjoy the sound and the look when you pop your hood.

By the way, as far as warranties go, I've had a tune on a few of my cars...
I actually blew the engine on my SVT Focus while there was a tune installed. The dealer simply said, the valve spring should not have broke and replaced the entire forged engine. I know the computer said exactly what was going on at the time but they found the cause... and didn't blame anything else. For those wondering, I was only going 135mph at 5,500rpms (redline was 8,000 with the tune).

I haven't bought it yet, but am very close in doing so. I view CAIs the same way I view axlebacks. I bought my Corsa axleback primarily for the sound and then looks. I couldn't care less if it gives me additional hp. I am looking at a CAI primarily for the intake sound and then looks. Exact same reason why I bought my axlebacks.

This independent review though, http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...Intake-Install, just made it easier for me to decide. I think the vent hole in the hood is a non-issue for me as my car is a fair weather car only. And there is an optional cover for the filter available for free from Airaid for the 13 and 14 owners, that I can install if I have to drive out of town for a couple of days.

Hey OP,
Have you checked Craigslist or for any possible local sellers? I have the same CAI a guy off Craigslist sold me with the optional dust cover for $150. (He had it on his V6 for less then 4 months before he traded his MustNg in for a truck)
Like others have said, any "gains" you feel are probably a placebo effect, but I love the whine!
