It has only just started recently unless I didn't bother to notice it before, but the clutch makes a clicking noise when I engage/disengage. Is it normal? It seems to feel a little different to me.

 

Probably the relay for the starter....

 

that relay is a NO (normaly open) circuit. it only closes when the clutch is pushed in AND the starter engaged. unless they changed the color and the way it works .. i believe the relay color off the clutch pedal is white/red.

 

I think i felt that click also, but it seems to happen when AC is turned on? Ronn

 

Well when I said it feels different I should have wen't into detail. Not only is it clicking but it's got that "sticky" feeling now also. I will probably take it in this week..

 

Source is it sticking at the top of its travel or is it sticking to the floor on high rpm shifts until the rpm drops?
If its sticking at the top of its travel thats a whole different issue from my car.

It takes a lot more for me to engage it now where before it felt light. I need to mash it down now for it to feel like I can shift. It feels like I'm stepping on gum before it comes back up.

 

I hear/feel a click when I shift into 2nd but I sounds like its coming from the shifter....

 

Same here - second is the only gear that you can really "feel" it going into the gear. It always clicks in 2nd no matter how you are shifting. The others gears there are no clicks. For me anyway.

 

Exactly. Should we be worried? Honestly I have no idea if we should or not....

 

I'm not too worried as it isn't a horrible sound. But I am thinking that when I get my first oil change I will go to the Ford dealership and maybe get them to check it out. It is odd that it is the only gear that makes that sound. I'm not a mechanic so I can't pretend to know anything about it - but I noticed it right away - but second is so freaking fast I never really cared

Could this be the solenoid for the skip shift opening, allowing you to go into second?

 

Could easily be! That sounds like a good explanation...
